**Job Summary**:
You will be part of a team of engaging, enthusiastic and dedicated people that are committed to collaborating with one another to deliver quality training and learning activities for MiWay Operations.

**Duties and Responsibilities**:
- Delivers training to new and existing transit operators that focuses on the development of transit/licensing skills and technical knowledge;
- Evaluates and provides feedback on driving performance and behavioural skills to new and existing transit operators;
- Facilitates refresher, return to work and remedial programs, and recommends re-training where necessary;
- Participates in the Collision Review Committee to determine preventability in the event of vehicle collisions;
- Ensures that the documentation related to employee training and driving records is maintained and accessible, in accordance with the requirements of the MTO, City of Mississauga Corporate policies and MiWay’s standard procedural rules and regulations;
- Investigates complaints regarding operator driving and behavior skills as required;
- Demonstrates initiative and leadership on the job and provides coaching, counseling and guidance to transit operators and other MiWay employees;
- Determines the best method of training to maximize the transfer of learning;
- Assists with the development of required course curriculum and materials;
- Maintains a working knowledge of the Ministry of Transportation policies and processes, ATU Collective Agreement and MiWay operating policies, practices and procedures;
- Supports MiWay and the Training Department in special events and ad hoc training projects as required;
- Performs other related duties as assigned.

Please Note: This position will require the incumbent to work rotating shifts including nights, early mornings and occasionally weekends and holidays in accordance with established service levels.

**Skills and Qualifications**:

- Post-Secondary Degree and/or Certification(s) in Adult Education, Training & Development is preferred;- 3-5 years of experience in Adult Instruction/Facilitation/Training, preferably in a large transportation organization, is considered an asset;
- Signing Authority status from the Ministry of Transportation (MTO) is preferred, or must have the ability to obtain Signing Authority;
- Must possess a valid Ontario Class C or B driver’s licence with Z endorsement (or equivalent) for a minimum of 3 years;
- Must have a clean driving record indicating safe and responsible vehicle operation over the past 3 years, 0 demerit points and no infractions or Highway Traffic Act violations (a driver’s abstract will be required);
- Understanding of transit operations, systems, and service delivery standards is an asset;
- Knowledge of relevant education programs, MTO and labour legislation (such as the Ontario Highway Traffic Act, Occupational Health and Safety Act) is an asset;
- Proven presentation and facilitation skills, along with customer service skills to be able to create and maintain a learner-centered environment;
- Excellent oral and written communication skills, including the ability to transfer knowledge in formal and informal settings;
- Effective organizational skills to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines;
- Consistently bases decisions on a systematic review of relevant facts and information, avoids making assumptions or rushing to judgment and provides clear rationale for decisions;
- Able to relate to all kinds of people regardless of background and build rapport with others within both union and non-union environments.

Hourly Rate/Salary: $ 73,350.00 - $ 97,802.00
