**Position Summary**:
The purpose of this position is to provide program coordination, operational support and guidance, and case management support with staff and clients. Alongside the Program Director, the Settlement Coordinator will consider risks and opportunities, resources allocation, strategy, and vision -- ensuring the Family Support Office program achieve operational excellence and work most effectively toward fulfilling the MFRS’ vision and core purpose.

**Key Responsibilities and Duties**

**Settlement Coordination**:

- Support staff in planning, implementing, evaluating, and adapting programs that meet client needs.
- Monitor and evaluate the delivery of programs for quality and to ensure they meet target deliverables.
- Maintain and monitor reporting systems to ensure staff have appropriately documented work on databases.
- Facilitate strong relationships with relevant funders, project partners, and stakeholder communities.
- Support with writing and editing of reports, proposals and presentations.

**Program Management**:

- Collaborate with program staff to develop strategies for engaging and retaining participants from different cultural communities, ensuring their unique needs and interests are considered.
- Support with creating, managing, and monitoring program budgets, working with program staff to use resources efficiently.
- Participate in planning, research, and evaluation of ongoing programs and development of new initiatives.
- Keep informed about program offerings of MFRS and other relevant agencies, institutions, etc.
- Attend/actively participate in agency and external meetings, advocating for needs and realities of marginalized newcomer families.
- Coordinate and manage community donations and funder relations to the FSO.
- Support in the development and management of budgets and financial reports for the FSO.

**People Development**:

- In partnership with the Director, assist with HR functions for the staff at the Family Support Office, including leading recruitment, hiring, orientation, team/individual engagement, and retention, and managing employee leaves - with the lens of building an inclusive, equitable and anti-oppressive workplace.
- Support and guide facilitators of culturally diverse groups, ensuring adherence to job descriptions and program guidelines while fostering inclusive engagement.
- Assist facilitators in organizing extraordinary sessions, events, and monitoring outcomes to enhance program effectiveness and address logístical challenges.
- Alongside program director, support the supervision and management performance of FSO Staff, group facilitators, youth mentors and volunteers.

**Qualifications**
- University degree or equivalent combination of education from an accredited institution and experience
- Two years of experience in a manager, coordinator, or team lead role
- Experience with financial management of program budgets and operational grants
- Comprehensive knowledge of the immigration system and not-for-profit sector
- Experience in cross-sector partnerships
- Knowledge of the premigration, settlement, social integration experience of marginalized immigrant and refugee communities and experience in working in relational and participatory practice with immigrants and refugees.
- Experience in program planning, development, implementation, and evaluation in a non-profit/community-based context
- Understanding of poverty, racism, and marginalization and how it affects those that MFRS serves.
- Experience adapting leadership and communication styles in a multicultural environment.

- Demonstrates openness and commitment to shifting one’s practice from “worker-led” to “family-driven” whereby support to families is guided by the unique strengths and needs of families
- Strong networking skills and comfort in representing an organization in cross-sector and inter-agency settings
- Excellent intercultural communication skills and conflict resolution skills
- Fluency in more than one language is an asset
