**Your Opportunity**:
Under general direction of the Senior Human Resources Consultant, the HR Consultant will support the operational and strategic human resource needs of academic Departments, Centres, Institutes, Schools, Colleges and programs within the Faculty of Arts & Science portfolio.
- legislation including the Ontario Human Rights Code and the Employment Standards Act; providing recruitment advice and assistance to clients; providing advice and guidance on complex organizational change and restructuring; reviewing client concerns and objectives, outlining options and approaches and partnering with clients to facilitate change processes; analyzing, evaluating and classifying positions; and contributing to attendance and disability management plans and processes as a member of a cross-functional team.

The incumbent will work closely with the Senior Human Resources Consultant, to support new, creative strategic initiatives and special projects and to guide junior staff.

This role is currently eligible for a hybrid work arrangement, pursuant to University policies and guidelines, including but not limited to the University of Toronto’s Alternative Work Arrangements Guideline.

**Essential Qualifications**:
**Education**:

- University degree in a relevant discipline and course work in the Human Resources field leading to the completion of the CHRL designation or equivalent combination of education and experience.

**Experience**:

- Minimum five (5) years progressively responsible and related human resource experience.
- Demonstrated experience developing strategy, providing expertise and overall management to complex restructuring activities.
- Demonstrated experience with unionized and non-unionized job evaluation, compensation and recruitment methodology and practices.
- Sound knowledge of human resources best practices and employment related legislation.
