**Remuneration**: $30.14/hr (Program Assistant Pay Scale)

**Position**:
We seek a visionary Program & Media Assistant to assist with administrative and communication duties. The below outlines the general areas of responsibility & ongoing tasks associated with this position. Additional tasks & priorities may be assigned or modified by management through program & work planning.

**Office and Program Administration Duties**
- Provide administrative support, including assisting with coordinating logistics and registrations for various SCIC events and activities as directed;
- Assist with meeting coordination, planning, scheduling, and follow-up tasks as directed;
- Assist the Executive Director and SCIC program staff with data collection, monitoring and maintaining of records, and report development;
**Communication Duties**
- Assist in the planning, editorial work, research, writing, and design of targeted, stakeholder communications, including newsletter, SCIC print and web publications, promotional materials;
- Assist in publicity and marketing for SCIC and its member’s programs and events;
- Monitor and maintain SCIC social media accounts; and increase digital engagement of communication reach;
- Maintain SCIC’s brand, ensuring consistent and engaging approaches across all platforms, program areas, and campaigns;
**Other Duties**
- Participate in staff meetings and program planning as required;
- Complete regular work plans and reports as required;
- Other duties as assigned by the Executive Director

**Knowledge, Skills & Ability Requirements**
- Experience or demonstrated understanding of international cooperation, global solidarity, anti-oppression, gender equality and/or global citizenship public engagement initiatives;
- Excellent planning and organizational skills with a demonstrated ability to organize multiple tasks and appropriately prioritize activities to effectively meet numerous deadlines;
- Experience with event logistics coordination;
- Demonstrated excellent oral, and written communication skills including copy-editing;
- Excellent computer skills with proficiency in Microsoft Suite, G-Suite, Adobe, Canva, and other communication software;
- Previous experience with managing social media on behalf of an organization is an asset;
- Experience with media outreach and public speaking considered and asset;
- Experience with graphic and visual design;
- Strong planning, time-management, and organizational skills;
- Fluency in both English and French considered an asset;
- Ability to be flexible and to work in relatively unstructured situations;
- Ability to be flexible, to problem-solve and work independently

**How to Apply**:
Pay: From $30.14 per hour

Expected hours: 35 per week

- Bachelor's Degree (preferred)

**Experience**:

- Non-profit sector: 2 years (preferred)

**Language**:

- English (preferred)

Licence/Certification:

- Driving Licence (preferred)

Willingness to travel:

- 25% (required)
