About Practice Ready Ontario (PRO)

Funded by the Government of Ontario, Touchstone Institute works closely with the College of Physicians and Surgeons of Ontario, the Medical Council of Canada, and others while administering the PRO program. PRO is a workplace assessment program that aims to add internationally trained family physicians or general practitioners who have completed post-graduate training and have an established track record of work in another country to practice in rural communities in Ontario.

Position Description

As a member of the Human Resources (HR) team, the PRO HR Coordinator will report directly to the HR Manager and collaborate with the Practice Ready Ontario (PRO) Managers, as part of a virtual business unit supporting the program. This role provides vital support to the PRO team by handling the day-to-day administration of HR programs, projects, and initiatives, including the recruitment of casual staff and physician leaders.

Key Accountabilities
- Assists with the recruitment process for the PRO Program, including screening resumes, scheduling interviews, and onboarding new hires, including casual and regular staff.
- Onboards vendors, contractors, and support staff into the payment system, ensuring they are set up correctly for payment.
- Develops, reviews, and updates program processes for PRO program, as needed.
- Prepares employment contracts and all other new hire documentation for PRO program.
- Works closely with the payroll team to supply instructions that enable prompt, accurate payroll transactions related to PRO program.
- Reviews payroll and maintain accurate employee records.
- Assists with drafting HR correspondence, preparation and distribution of documents, presentations and other materials as needed.
- Processes all staffing changes, e.g. resignations, including confirmation to the employee and notifications to the appropriate departments and external parties, as needed.
- Performs other HR-related duties for the PRO program or corporate HR, as assigned.

Position Requirements

**Abilities**
- Strong understanding of HR principles and practices
- Knowledge of relevant Canadian employment laws including the ESA, Human Rights legislation and the OHSA
- Excellent organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
- Ability to prioritize tasks, manage multiple deadlines, and work effectively in a fast-paced environment
- Detail-oriented and accuracy-focused
- High level of attention to detail and process orientation
- Well-developed critical thinking skills to identify key issues and propose solutions
- Strong conflict management skills

**Qualifications**
- Bachelor's degree in human resources or a related field (preferred)
- Minimum of 3 years of experience in an HR role
- CHRP designation or working towards a designation would be considered an asset.
