Are you ready to play a pivotal role in shaping the educational journey of aspiring educators? The Faculty of Education at the University of Regina is on the lookout for an enthusiastic and dedicated individual to fill the dynamic position of **Field Placement Officer** in Student Services.

As a Field Placement Officer, you’ll be at the heart of our mission, working collaboratively with faculty, staff, and various stakeholders to arrange enriching field experiences for undergraduate and graduate students in the Faculty of Education. Reporting to the Dean of Education, you’ll be an integral part of our commitment to providing top-notch learning opportunities for our students.

**What You’ll Do**:

- **Forge Strategic Partnerships**:

- Develop, establish, and nurture relationships with Saskatchewan School Boards and local partner agencies.
- Proactively solicit, negotiate, and secure diverse placements in alignment with program curricula.
- **Explore and Identify Opportunities**:

- Conduct comprehensive research to identify potential field placements locally, provincially, nationally, and internationally.
- Categorize and evaluate community resources to ensure a rich array of experiential learning options.
- **Transparent Matching and Assignment**:

- Implement a transparent matching process for students and partners.
- Utilize a nuanced approach to assign students to field placements based on program requirements, developmental needs, and individual learning interests.
- **Seamless Coordination**:

- Oversee all placement processes for specific programs, including Secondary after degree program (BEAD), Le Bac, and Ed PSY Clinical Counselling.
- **Ongoing Support and Troubleshooting**:

- Be a reliable point of contact for students and partners, offering proactive support throughout their placement experiences.
- Troubleshoot emerging issues and provide creative solutions to complex problems that may arise in the field.
- **Mentorship Readiness**:

- Collaborate with the Director of Professional Development & Field Experiences to prepare cooperating teachers for effective mentorship experiences.
- **Integration with Academic Programs**:

- Foster strong connections between university courses/programs and field experiences.
- Collaborate with the Director of Professional Development & Field Experiences to diversify field experience options for students.
- **Remedial Support for Interns**:

- Work closely with interns requiring remedial support, ensuring a supportive and enriching learning environment.
- **Committee Participation**:

- Actively participate in relevant committee meetings, contributing to the continuous improvement of our programs.
- **Resource Management and Development**:

- Oversee record management and create/update various resources specific to field placements, ensuring a well-equipped and organized support system.

Position Requirements

**What You’ll Bring to the Position**:

- Undergraduate Degree, Bachelor of Education, or an undergraduate degree in a related field.
- A minimum of 5 years of teaching experience with a Saskatchewan school division.
- A Professional A teaching certificate.

**Skills That Will Ensure Your Success in this Role**:

- Experience supervising interns during teaching career and is familiar with the role of the co-operating teacher.
