Marketing Intern

We are looking for a creative, detail-oriented and tech savvy marketing and communications intern to join our team this summer This position is ideal for someone looking to gain experience in a hands-on marketing role and contribute to the Y's impact as a local charity. Skills including videography, design, writing, social media engagement, digital marketing or data organization/SharePoint are all assets in this role. Specific responsibilities will depend on applicant skillset, but may include:
- Event support including planning, set-up and reporting
- Videography with an aim to share impact (storytelling, charitable awareness)
- Campaign execution (from planning, idea generation and completion of various marketing tasks)
- Organization of data, file naming, tags and systems development as we transition to SharePoint
- Support with set up of a digital Brand Resource Centre
- Responding to customer inquiries through digital channels
- Website edits and user experience enhancements
- Google advertising using Google Ads Grant (Google for non-profits)
- Dashboard setup in Google Analytics GA4
- Brand updates in policy manuals and other
- Design and guidelines development as we broaden our use of Team Canva
- E-newsletters and executing targeted member communications strategies
- Seeking out communication opportunities within the Y facilities and throughout the community (including distribution of marketing materials/relationship building)
- Providing administrative and project support for the marketing department including mailing, scanning, copying, organizing
**We'd love to hear from people with**:
- Experience in marketing, communications, videography, design or website maintenance
- Experience with SharePoint is an asset (including data organization and functionality)
- Working knowledge of Canva, specifically the use of Team Canva within an organization is an asset
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
- Proficiency in Adobe Creative Cloud (i.e., InDesign, Photoshop) is an asset
- Superior communications skills (including written) and collaborative attitude
- Ability to learn quickly, adapt to changes and contribute to marketing ideas
- Understanding of digital analytics platforms is an asset
- A values-based mindset and strong belief in the mission of the YMCA

- **Location**: Association Services Office located at 375 Hartman Road
- **Schedule**: Full-time position (8 Week Internship) — 35 hours/week
- **Compensation**: $19/hour + Y Membership
- This role is funded through Canada Summer Jobs Grant
