- We are seeking an agile, intuitive, and highly detailed Payroll & Benefits Administrator, who is passionate about payroll, to join our People and Culture Team. Reporting into the Payroll Manager, this role will be responsible for preparing and processing multi-provincial Canadian payroll for employees across five different businesses and multiple legal entities. The Payroll Specialist will be solely responsible for managing and processing payroll related correspondence in a complex, high volume business._
- This role will work in a hybrid environment which includes work from home, with the requirement to be able to travel into our offices (Grimsby & Oakville) when needed._
**_ We are looking for a teammate with:_**
- Completion of post-secondary education or equivalent experience.
- Minimum 2-3 years of payroll, benefits, and pension experience.
- Certified PCP is considered an asset.
- Dayforce experience is considered an asset.
- Proficient computer skills (Word, advanced Excel, report writing) required.
- Ability to deal with sensitive and highly confidential information
- Strong problem solving and data analysis skills, knowledge of payroll legislation, generally accepted accounting principles along with research and resolution skills.
- Extremely detail-oriented, organized and reliable
- Ability to work independently and as a group in a fast-paced and high-volume environment, and to meet critical deadlines
- Ability to interact with employees, vendors and other community members in a professional manner.
- Superior time management and organizational skills with the ability to adapt to change.
- Strong ability to prioritize tasks and balance numerous tasks and meet strict deadlines.
**_ This teammate will be accountable for:_**
**Payroll Administration**:
- Responsible for the processing of payroll data for new employees, transfers, terminations, and rate changes into the HCM system for multiple national business units.
- Review payroll and ensure accuracy prior to payroll transmission.
- Ensures accuracy of all information in accordance with company policies and practices.
- Maintenance of all employee files.
- Responds to inquiries and provides accurate advice and information to employees, and government agencies.
- Submits bi-weekly reports to various divisions and managers.
- Create process documents and provide support to users as new systems are implemented.
- Assists Payroll Manager and Payroll Specialist on key payroll projects and initiatives.
**Benefits Administration**:
- Administer group insurance benefits; enrollments, changes, terminations, employee inquiries, updating database and liaising with representatives from the service provider and resolving benefits-related issues.
- Update data as required (new salary, dependents, address change etc.)
- Reconcile premium billings and conduct audits of benefit coverage as required.
- Create and provide employment verification letters.
- Assists Total Rewards Specialist on key benefit, pension and wellness projects and initiatives.
