**Description**

This position reports to the Principal Investigator.

The Research Assistant's primary purpose is to assist with study set up, as well as support recruitment, enrolment, and data collection for participants. The role requires collaboration with the research team, and following procedures and guidelines established by the Principal Investigator.

**Summary of Key Responsibilities** (job functions include but are not limited to):

- Assist with interviews and focus groups
- Schedule and coordinate meetings with multi-stakeholder groups
- Assisting in the preparation of reports, presentations, and other research material for various audiences including academic, stakeholders, and general public
- Assisting with quantitative and qualitative analysis of data collection
- Conducting literature reviews and summarizing findings
- Managing own time effectively while balancing competing priorities
- Support the Principal Investigator and team members on other projects as needed

**Qualifications / Requirements**:

- Completed Bachelors degree in social sciences, Psychology or related discipline
- Minimum 2 years experience working with children, especially ages 7 to 16 and with older adolescents and young adults (ages 17 -¿ 24)
- Experience in trauma-informed practice and the sensitivities surrounding child maltreatment an asset
- Ability to work independently and with mínimal direct supervision
- Exceptional organization and attention-to-detail
- Familiar with clinical environment and social services administration an asset
- Familiar with cognitive behavioural therapy and working with children, youth and families
- Experience with quantitative and/or qualitative data collection and analysis
- Driver's license and ability to travel to multiple sites within Calgary
- Proficiency with Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint
- Proficiency with software for data collection or analysis is an asset (e.g., REDCAP, SPSS, STATA, NVivo)
- Experience with psychological assessment is an asset
- Experience working in schools is an asset
- Knowledge of genetics and neuroscience is an asset
