**Essential Duties**:

- Act as a resource and trusted partner to employees by advising on processes, and procedures, or providing the information needed on general employment topics.
- Work closely with management and team to build morale and increase productivity and retention.
- Execute HR strategies by educating the first-line management team and employees on new initiatives.
- Support change management by communicating the how and why behind the change with a positive interface.
- Advise, address, and resolve complex employee relations issues considering culture, business, policies, and applicable laws.
- Facilitate business unit training needs. Oversee compliance training.
- Work with management on organizational changes and provide feedback to HR leadership for review, approval, and execution.
- Participate and provide feedback on strategic HR meetings to help guide the direction of important HR initiatives.
- Keeping abreast of changes to all applicable laws and revising NGK policies, where necessary, to ensure compliance.
- Collect, monitor, and analyze data related to various HR metrics, programs, and policies.
- Provides day-to-day performance management guidance to leaders (e.g., coaching, counseling, career development, corrective actions).
- Supports discharge and term activity as needed; Prepares documentation regarding terminations, and conducts exit interviews.
- Maintain HR information, payroll and timekeeping programs, benefits, and employment records.
- Periodical review of all policies, recommend changes to exist policies and prepare revised or create new policies for approval from the management.
- Understand/comply with quality system and emergency management policy/procedures.
- Support all administrative duties in the office and ensure that office is operating smoothly
- Serve as a member of the Health & Safety Team. Record all known instances relating to health & safety.
- Process and review Anti-trust compliance reports received electronically to ensure their completeness.

**Academic Skills/Knowledge/Experience**:
High school diploma or diploma in a related field of study

Certified Human Resources Professional/Leader designation is considered an asset

Minimum of 4 years of experience in a diverse Human Resources role

Minimum of 2 years solving complex employee relations issues

Good understanding of basic business concepts

Excellent organizational skills and meticulous attention to detail

Excellent time management skills with a proven ability to meet deadlines

Strong analytical and problem-solving skills

Ability to handle confidential information

Strong written and verbal communication with excellent[TF1] interpersonal skills

Proven ability to adapt to changing needs in fast-paced office

Ability to cope with conflict and stressful situations

Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite or related software

Possess mental faculties consistent with performing at least the minimum essential functions of the job

**Physical Requirements**:
Ability to see and hear (correctable)

Ability to communicate verbally

Ability to travel, if required, occasionally

Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and operating a computer
