The role is part of North American Retail Payments team and reports into a Senior Technology Officer. The Release/Outage Management Technical Lead will be responsible for ensuring the timely assessment, scheduling and release of code according to BMO and Credit Card Vendors Release Management processes.

The lead will work with the Vendor (TSYS), business, Technology managers, developers, solution architects, testing teams, vendors, business teams and delivery teams from various groups within and outside BMO. This position requires a self-starter with strong release management knowledge and proven experience in leading multiple and complex change management.

**What will you do**:

- Ensures Tickets/intakes are created, approval and scheduling of each release management activity.
- Capture sign offs/impacts for each release
- Primary point of reference for Technology teams for all Release Management activities from our Card Vendors
- Leads the engagement of QA and other Testing teams when testing of release management activities require changes/assessment of impact.
- Lead the assessment with vendor and internal teams to determine which release management activities will have a BMO downstream impact
- Support the process and ensuring that appropriate teams are engaged, assessment complete and change implemented by following current SDLC process as required.
- Leads/participates in software development Process Action Teams and contributes to the continuous improvement of the Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC) processes for the overall effectiveness of the development process
- Assesses impact of TSYS Releases and Outages to the BMO payment/card echo system\processes/solution/product/service, deliver the impact assessment to teams to perform their assessments.
- Identifies emerging issues and trends to inform decision-making.
- Leads and implements initiatives as required to deliver business objectives.
- Conducts independent analysis and assessment to resolve strategic issues.
- Builds effective relationships with internal/external stakeholders and ensures alignment.
- Monitors and tracks performance and addresses any issues.
- Leads/conducts detailed code-reviews and provides feedback in a constructive manner.
- Interacts with key business & technology stakeholders to define, analyze, and deliver requirements that reflect the needs of both the business and end-customers.
- Supports production issues, includes independently completing root-cause analysis and diagnosis.
- Recommends or automates approaches to streamline and integrate technological processes and/or systems to improve operational efficiency and effectiveness.

**What do you need to succeed**:

- Proven experience working in a software development production support environment ideally in the financial services industry
- Experience in Release Management
- TSYS/Card Vendor Knowledge and/or experience
- Advanced level of knowledge in payment platforms
- Superb communication skills
