**Job Summary**

Goodwin Porter Hétu is a professional CPA firm offering exceptional business and tax services in a small-town environment with a dedication to customer service.

We have an opening for a competent, conscientious and curious individual that loves working (or the idea of working) in a small-town public accounting firm.

The right experience is important, and training will be offered for this 15 months contract.

Compensation will match experience level.

**Responsibilities and Duties**
- Manage reception area (and telephone) and utilize client management software and other tools to organize information sharing and workflow;
- Process customer payments and update Accounts Receivable records;
- Perform Bookkeeping services for a variety of small business clients including sorting, classification and input into Quickbooks and reconciliation of accounts;
- Preparation of periodic HST, WSIB and other remittances;
- Assist with preparation of T1 Personal Income Tax Returns
- Assist with processing of payroll and calculation of remittances;
- Preparation and/or filing of T4 and T5 slips and summaries;
- Manage office supplies, and filing of documents;
- Other related duties as assigned.

**Qualifications and Skills - **This Role requires a person of impeccable character with business experience and skills

Knowledge/Experience & Technical Skills (some, if not all)
- Educational certification in bookkeeping or accounting;
- Experience working in a Public Accountant office environment;
- Understanding of individual income tax concepts and preparation of returns;
- Proficient with MS Office Word and Excel and other business software;
- Proficient in use of Quickbooks (Desktop or online);
- Confident and comfortable in computer operations and standard software;
- Strong interpersonal communication and formal writing and editing skills
