Position Summary:
Reporting to the Associate Director, Student Accounts, the Administrator shall provide financial and accounting services centrally to support the recording and reporting of the University’s financial position. The incumbent will be responsible for the administration and collection for sponsored student accounts, and management of the charges on course sections. The incumbent will be responsible for ongoing communications with various sponsors, and members of the McGill community in regards to fees. The incumbent will be responsible for various reconciliations, analysis and follow up of variances in daily feeds reports; and financial and budgeting reports with regards to course/program fees.

Primary Responsibilities:

- Analysis of accounts and assessment of individual sponsor situations; resolve delinquent account situations by working with students and their sponsors. Implement a collection process and schedule for sponsors.
- Liaison with internal departments to establish criteria for setting up new contracts, roles and responsibilities of A/R vs department, and training where necessary.
- Evaluate the functionality of billing processes within the enterprise software and participates in creating test plans and execution during upgrades;
- Ensure that existing fees on course sections are updated to new amounts;
- Prepare statistics reports to explain variances for budget and financial reporting exercises;
- Review, analyse and correct daily feed to finance error reports;
- Report recurring errors/issues to Associate Director to highlight areas for training.
- Daily review of Student Accounts Receivable cashiering sessions to identify and correct erroneous transactions;
- Participate in the regular activities of the Student Accounts office with regards to fee assessment, ongoing communication, replying to inquiries from staff and students, and month-end and year-end reporting activities.

Other Qualifying Skills and/or Abilities

Must be customer service-oriented and able to analyze and resolve difficult problems using fair and logical judgement. High degree of financial analytical skills as well as flexibility in managing multiple tasks, with the ability to prioritize and meet deadlines. Strong interpersonal and communication skills. Fast self-learner with the ability to recognize knowledge gaps and acquire the information when necessary. Demonstrated ability to work in a PC environment using word-processing, spreadsheets (advanced skills), including a working knowledge of Crystal Reports or other reporting tool. Excellent communication skills in English, spoken and written. French, spoken and written.
