Trade Compliance Coordinator

As the Trade Compliance Coordinator, you will manage customs and logistics compliance operations, ensuring adherence to all relevant regulations. Your primary duties will include coordinating inbound shipments from overseas factories to our North American warehouses, handling documentation, collaborating with internal departments, and engaging with external suppliers and partners. This role is crucial in supporting the long-term goals of the Operations department and requires proficiency in customs regulations, strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and effective collaboration abilities.

The role and responsibilities:

- Maintain bookings and shipment progress with external suppliers and partners from start to finish.
- Monitor external supplier platforms for accuracy and correct any discrepancies.
- Liaise with our customs broker and provide all necessary documentation for any cross-border shipments.
- Work closely with the Storkcraft Operations department to ensure shipments are received in a timely manner.
- Create customs invoices and packing lists for all shipments.
- Maintain and organize documentation through all relevant online filing systems.
- Log all relevant shipment activity in our internal systems.
- Review and process all invoices for accuracy, including Customs Brokerage, Freight, and Drayage
- Analyze current procedures and SOPs, proposing new solutions to improve efficiency and achieve cost-savings for Storkcraft.
- Generate monthly KPI reports for all relevant parties to ensure SLAs are being met by outside suppliers.
- Other tasks, as required.

General Requirements:

- Minimum one year experience in a trade compliance role.
- University or diploma in Supply Chain or related field.
- Certified Customs Specialist designation is considered an asset.
- Prior experience with Microsoft Dynamics or other relevant ERP systems.
- Strong user of Microsoft Office products (Word/Excel/PowerPoint/Visio).
- Excellent written and oral communication skills.
- Proven ability to work effectively in a team environment.
- Strong organization and analytical skills.
- High attention to detail.
