We're hiring a full-time, Ottawa-based Accounts Payable Coordinator to join our Accounting and Finance team, who’s curious about the infrastructure sector, and to facilitate accounts payable processing and financial accounting in a global organization.

**Your impact**

We'll rely on your timeliness and precision to process expense claims, travel reimbursements, subcontractor invoices and other accounting transactions related to accounts payable management and payment processing.

**Your responsibilities**

Under the guidance of our Chief Financial Officer, you’ll:

- Process invoices and employee expense claims
- Assist with payment processing
- Review company bills for discrepancies and investigate payment problems
- Audit accounts to ensure timeliness of payments
- Use computer systems to run databases and pay bills
- Liaise with auditors and act as a lead during audit processes
- Update contract under negotiation and budgets in Deltek Vantagepoint
- Ensure the strict confidentiality and privacy of financial records
- Administrate vendor file reconciliations and respond to respective project manager inquiries
- Respond to vendor inquiries
- Perform relevant clerical duties such as word processing, maintaining filing and record systems
- Stay current with all regulations, practices, tax laws, reporting requirements and industry trends
- Create promotional projects to correspond with identified opportunities in the right organization and currency
- Perform other tasks as required

**What you bring to the team**
- Bachelor's degree or college diploma in accounting
- At least 2 years of experience in accounts payable, preferably in a multi-currency, international organization
- Knowledge of accepted accounting rules, practices, tax laws, reporting requirements, payment regulations and fair credit practices
- Demonstrated ability to calculate, post, correct and manage accounting figures and financial records
- High level of moral judgment for handling confidential information and monetary transactions
- Ability to perform moderate to complex account reconciliations
- Problem identification and problem resolution skills
- Computer literacy, including effective working skills of Microsoft Office Suite and adaptability to learn new software (Deltek, Vision 7.6, Vantagepoint)
- Critical and logical thinking
- Attention to detail
- Fluency in French is an asset
