**Manager, Research Programs & Partnerships; Unity Health Centre for Global Collaboration in Acute Care Research**

We are seeking a dynamic, creative, and strategic leader to become the inaugural manager of the Unity Health Toronto’s Centre for Global Collaboration in Acute Care Research (Centre). Arising out of activities that helped shape the international research response to the COVID-19 pandemic, the Centre will develop and coordinate programs that support greater national and international research collaboration. The Centre will serve as the secretariat for the International Forum for Acute Care Trialists (InFACT) - a global network of investigator-led acute care clinical trials groups, as the organizing hub for REMAP-CAP in Canada - an international platform trial that evaluated treatments for severe COVID-19, and as a key Working with the Centre director, the manager will build partnerships, establish a business and sustainability plan, and oversee the evolving activities of the centre.

**Duties & Responsibilities**:

- Co-lead the development of the Centre’s strategic plan, and its associated networks, partners or affiliates.
- Co-lead the objectives of the Centre and mechanisms to measure relevant key performance indicators.
- Foster collaborations with the Canadian and international acute care research community, including but not limited to researchers, executives, industry, trainees.
- Lead, including preparation and delivery, of national and international meetings applicable to the Centre’s mandate.
- Act as a representative of the Centre with a wide range of stakeholders including but not limited to healthcare community members, leadership, governments.
- Lead the develop of materials including but not limited to marketing, annual reports, white papers.
- Ensure the financial viability of the Centre including the ability to develop a multi-year budget and manage variances on a period-by-period basis in accordance with organizational policies and processes.
- Manage the Centre’s staff whether directly within Unity Health Toronto and/or indirectly/functionally via the larger reach of the Centre through its partners, networks, or affiliates.
- Other duties as assigned.

**Qualifications**:

- A master’s degree in science, health, or related field is required.
- A master’s degree in business administration, professional designation in accounting, project management are an asset.
- A minimum of 5-years of experience, including 3-years of leadership experience managing programs, center’s and/or networks.
- Demonstrated experience in developing and leading strategy and operations of comparable programs, centre’s and/or networks.
- Demonstrated experience in managing finances including budget development, forecasting, variance monitoring.
- Experience with critical care research or clinical programs are an asset.
- An entrepreneurial spirit, with the ability to ‘get things done’ within a multidisciplinary environment and stakeholders of differing priorities.
- A master marketer and influencer that is able to consider reputation, positioning, and value proposition in each interaction with partners, networks, or affiliates.

This position is a 24 month contract.
