Our Kids Health, in the Department of Pediatrics at St. Michael’s Hospital is currently looking for a **Manager, Research Program **to assist with ongoing expansion of the program to additional cultural-linguistic groups. This position encompasses the overall responsibility for the development and implementation of strategies used in the conduct of research and programming, the development and implementation of Our Kids’ Health to additional cultural linguistic groups and the evaluation of Our Kids’ Health. This position will be responsible for the financial and human resource management, and day to day guidance and coordination of Our Kids’ Health.

**Duties and Responsibilities**
- Manages, supervises, recruits, trains, mentors, and evaluates Research Assistants, Coordinators, students, and other staff including ongoing updates of various research guidelines and regulations.
- Develops and fosters team culture, creates an environment that celebrates team member successes, is collaborative, encouraging, and fun.
- Schedules staffing and maintains efficient and optimal levels (including daily, vacation, and sick time coverage).
- Plans the strategy and project management of the program (projects, timelines, staffing and resource needs).
- Develops and implements policies, procedures and standards for the research program.
- Develops, maintains, and/or authorizes budgets, payment schedules, and creation/updates of financial reporting.
- Oversees personnel and payroll reports.
- Responsible for staff contract renewals and job change/status requests
- Develops and negotiates research agreements (including terms of financing), and strategic alliances/partnerships for collaboration with outside parties.
- Extensive stakeholder engagement and management.
- Liaises with funders and regulators.
- Actively promotes and addresses issues regarding inclusion, equity and diversity in the workplace.
- In collaboration with the Principal Investigator, may help initiate, support, review, and/or develop research proposals and protocols.
- Provides input on and supervises research design and analysis of study data, including assisting with planning, execution, statistical analysis, and interpretation.
- Coordinates and may oversee research grant process, including Research Ethics Board approvals, and privacy agreements.
- Contributes to professional publications, presentations, posters, manuscript preparations, and knowledge translation products.
- Chairs research group meetings.
- Oversees and coordinates data management using the relevant research methodology while properly handling all research material.
- Responsible for confidentiality, and data security of information and records in accordance with standards of ethics and the principles of regulatory bodies.
- Participates in knowledge translation activities including but not limited to blogs, community presentations, policy briefs, and reports for funders and the general public.
- Performs cross functional and other duties as assigned and/or requested.

**Qualifications, Knowledge and Skills**
- Masters with 5 years of relevant experience and 2 years in a leadership role OR demonstrable equivalent combination of specialized education and experience.
- Project Management certification is an asset
- Previous research experience in social media evaluation preferred
- Previous clinical research experience in qualitative and/or big data preferred
- Previous experience supervising and training staff preferred
- Previous experience in overseeing the strategic development and implementation of research programs preferred.
- Thorough understanding of social determinants of health and inequity
- EDI training is an asset.
- Familiarity with research related ethical principles.
- Familiarity with research budgeting and REB.
- Social media skills preferred
- Proficient with MS Office software (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, etc.) and statistical software.
- Excellent communication (verbal/written), superb interpersonal skills, with ability to adapt communication styles to meet the needs of diverse stakeholder groups.
- Excellent organizational skills.
- Commitment to EDI principles, and awareness of diverse communities and priority populations.
