**Description**

The **Recruitment Team** in the **Office of the Registrar** is currently seeking a Recurring Part-time **Student Recruitment Assistant, Indigenous**.

This position reports to the Coordinator, National Student Recruitment and works in collaboration with the Student Recruitment Specialist, Indigenous to provide support for inquiries while the Student Recruitment Specialist, Indigenous engages with prospective Indigenous students, counsellors, and community members in community.

The business day for the Office of the Registrar runs from 8:30 am thru 4:30 pm Monday-Friday. Shifts will typically range from 4-5 hours in duration up to a full 7 hour, Monday to Friday with the exception of statutory holidays and closures. Peak periods are August-September and January.

**Summary of Key Responsibilities** (job functions include but are not limited to):
Student Recruitment (non-travel)
- Presentations to varied audiences (in-person or digital).
- Communicates information pertaining to the University of Calgary in an accurate, timely, and honest manner.

Student Recruitment, Indigenous Support
- Assisting the Student Recruitment Team with the distribution of Indigenous recruitment materials.

Other duties as required
- Acts as a resource within other units of the Office of the Registrar.

**Qualifications / Requirements**:

- Post-secondary education in a related field is preferred.
- Demonstrated knowledge of the organizational structure of the University of Calgary with regard to such factors as location, student population and academic programs is considered an asset.
- Ability to manage change and demonstrate success in leading change initiatives.
- Strong written and oral communication skills.
- Demonstrated proficiency with technology with a specific focus on virtual fair platforms, online presentation tools, and CRM tools such as EzRecruit.
- Demonstrated ability to work and communicate with diverse groups of people.
- Demonstrated ability to establish and maintain cooperative working relationships with staff, colleagues, school administrators, officials and representatives.
- Demonstrated ability to work in a fast-paced, high pressure, team-based environment and meet deadlines.
- Demonstrated knowledge of the Treaty 7 territory and/or an established working relationship with Treaty 7 communities are considered an asset.
- Demonstrated ability to build positive relationships with Indigenous Peoples and alongside Indigenous communities including Elders and Traditional Knowledge Keepers.
- Demonstrated understanding of the cultural knowledge and communication skills required to connect with Indigenous students, schools and communities.
- Willing to work evenings and weekends as required.
