**Recreation Coordinator**

The Bruce Oake Recovery Centre is a non-profit 50 bed residential treatment center in the Crestview area in Winnipeg, MB. The Bruce Oake recovery team provides evidence based holistic and integrated full-continuum programs and service, led by highly qualified staff. We are now recruiting a Recreation Coordinator to support physical and mental well-being in our community. Physical exercise, fun, connection, team building, and culture are important aspects of recovery and a priority for Bruce Oake participants. This position is an opportunity to make a significant impact and support successful life transformations of individuals and families experiencing problematic substance use and addiction.

**Position Overview**

Reporting to the Lead Counsellor and Director of Programs, the Recreation Coordinator is responsible for the planning, organizing, facilitation, development and delivery of physical health programming at Bruce Oake Recovery Centre. The Recreation Coordinator is responsible for establishing healthy relationships with participants, and maintaining a strong sense of community through teamwork and fun. Familiarity with substance use, mental health and individuals from diverse backgrounds is important to the role.
- Organize and facilitate recreational sport activities at Bruce Oake including team sports, indoor and outdoor activities, and fitness.
- Adapt programming to the needs and interests of the participants
- Ensure all fitness activities are conducted in a safe and inclusive environment
- Create fun and engaging activities and events to engage and develop physical health and well-being
- Prepare activity calendar and ensure all residents are aware of activities and participating inevents
- Work and collaborate with an interdisciplinary clinical team to support the physical well-being of participants
