Lions Housing Centres Inc. is looking to hire casual Recreation staff for the Adult Day Programs and Personal Care Home.
- **ABOUT THE POSITION**_

We have various Adult Day Program locations in the city including Charleswood and Concordia area, as well as our Personal Care Home located downtown. This position may require you to work at different locations as per operations requirement.
- **WHAT WE DO**_

Lions Housing Centres Inc. operates within our community to provide a comfortable, home-like atmosphere for residents through various housing opportunities, including Independent Living, Supportive Housing, and the Personal Care Centre. Our vision statement is "_**To care for all and to create a healthy and vibrant community" **_and we would not be able to promote our goal without the skills and abilities, and compassion of our dedicated staff.

**Responsibilities**:

- **Program Coordination and Implementation-**_
- Coordinate daily attendance in conjunction with Transportation. Fax weekly attendance list. Maintain contact with their accountant in regards to any billing discrepancies
- Assist members upon arrival, departure and during the day as necessary.
- Prepare petty cash and ensure funds are balanced.
- Interview participant to assess suitability for Adult Day Program.
- Complete pre admission information forms for each new participant, assign an account number and send directly to Finance.
- Send Case Coordinators a post admission report for their client on a timely basis.
- Ensure each member has a complete and updated care plan and progress notes.
- Prepare Occurrence reports and send to the Manager of Recreation.
- Prepare and forward monthly CQI and WRHA STATS to the Manager of Recreation.
- Assist with monthly program calendar and implementation of participant programs.
- **Supervision-**_
- Supervise and train Adult Day Club employees
- Delegate and assigns tasks to ADC employees
- Other duties as assigned
- Ensure Manager is informed of changes that will effect the club.
- **Professionalism-**_
- Maintains confidentiality in all matters pertaining to participants, staff and facility operations
- Practices in a manner that supports the Respectful Workplace Policy and the Resident Bill of Rights
- Participates in mandatory annual education
- Work collaboratively with all staff as required

**Job Requirements**:

- Recreation Facilitator for Older Adults Certificate (preferred)
- Valid Food Handlers Certificate
- Genuine interest working with well and cognitively impaired seniors is required.
- Good interpersonal, conflict resolution and leadership skills
- 1 year of supervisory experience
- Demonstrated group facilitation skills
- Excellent computer skills
- Able to read, write and speak English
- Must be able to take direction as well as be independent.
- Good organizational abilities, with a particular emphasis on time management
- Physically and mentally able to perform all duties of the role
- Provide a current (within 6 months) clear Criminal Record Check and Adult Abuse Registry Check

**Job Type**: Casual

**Salary**: $19.00-$20.00 per hour
