Westhills is a BRAND NEW distinctive Long-Term Care Facility providing a variety of clinical and personal programs and services to 160 residents

The Clinical Manager reports directly to the Director of Nursing and works closely with the clinical team to ensure high standard of quality care and services to the residents. Responsible for all aspects of clinical care components, including effective implementation, assessment, monitoring, evaluation and follow-up on mandatory programs outlined in Reg. 79/10, admission/discharge of residents, consents to treatment, physician orders, medication administration, hospitalization, clinical records maintenance and coordination of community support to ensure residents are receiving the highest quality of care.

**RESPONSIBILITIES**:

- Assist the Director of Nursing in the development, implementation, monitoring and evaluation of the home’s policies and procedures related to nursing care provision, with special focus on mandatory programs. Plan and communicate clinical care needs of the residents to Director of Nursing and Administrator
- Ensure Home’s compliance with the regulatory requirements and acts as a resource person to the facility staff in assisting in clinical records evaluation and ensuring compliance to established standards and policies of the Home.
- Evaluation the effectiveness of implemented policies and procedures, including nursing documentation and compliance by staff with legislation, standards, policies and procedures. Review findings with the Director of Nursing.
- In coordination with the Staff Ed., DON, IPAC Manager review and coordinate the educational and best practice initiatives, including infection control and safety procedures program.
- Monitor, direct and evaluate staff compliance with mandatory programs. Communicate identified concerns and areas of non-compliance with DON.
- Coordinate, direct and oversee all activities for newly admitted resident. Review all documentation and information received from HCCSS, physician, hospital, resident/SDM and significant others in collaboration with the Registered staff and direct caregivers.
- Conduct regular reviews and provide direction to registered staff and direct care givers as need.

**QUALIFICATIONS**:

- Must be a Registered Nurse with current Registration with the College of Nurses of Ontario. Preference to B.Sc.N or Training in Adult Education.
- Long Term Care Management Program would be an asset.
- Minimum of 3 years relevant experience in long-term care setting in a supervisory role.
- Must have a background in training, which includes needs assessment, planning, teaching, and evaluating.
- The ability to develop programs based on the needs of nurses working with seniors is essential.
- A thorough knowledge of the Long Term Care Homes Act, established standards, and other pertinent Provincial and Municipal legislation is required.
- Ability to work effectively individually and with others while prioritizing tasks to handle the most urgent first.
- **MUST have a current Police Check (Vulnerable Sector).**

**Salary**: From $75,000.00 per year
