Bison Lodge Event Representative

**Job Summary**:
The Lodge Representative is a critical role at Bison Lodge, ensuring the success of a variety of events, including weddings, cultural celebrations, and community gatherings. This position combines leadership, collaboration, and physical tasks, making it ideal for someone who is hands-on, reliable, and passionate about community service, event coordination, and customer service.
**Key Responsibilities**:
**Event Operations and Coordination**:
- Perform pre-event walkthroughs of the building and grounds to ensure readiness and cleanliness.
- Attend to event-specific requirements, including taking down outdoor chairs, moving tables, and helping clients with day of event needs.
- Ensuring smooth operations and excellent client experiences, during a variety of events.
- Act as the main point of contact for clients, vendors (e.g., caterers, DJs), and event staff.
- Address client and vendor needs promptly and professionally during events.
**Facility and Equipment Management**:
- Prepare the spaces, including managing lights, doors, AV systems, and accessibility features such as lifts.
- Perform basic maintenance checks on equipment (dishwasher, elevator, AV systems) before and during events.
- Ensure the safety and preservation of the historic venue throughout each event.
**Leadership and Team Collaboration**:
- Work closely with a small, efficient team to complete tasks and ensure the success of events.
- Take initiative to solve problems, improve processes, and contribute to the overall mission of Bison Lodge.
- Represent Bison Lodge’s commitment to community service, cultural exchange, and historic preservation.
- Be knowledgeable about, and ready to discuss NAPDA and Bison Lodge’s mission and needs.
**Physical Responsibilities**:
- Handle physical tasks, including setting up chairs, moving tables, and lifting dishes and glassware.
- Be capable of lifting to 50 pounds occasionally, and frequently lifting 5-20 pounds during events, using hand dolly’s to move chairs, etc.
**Qualifications**:
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills to interact effectively with clients, vendors, and team members.
- Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends, based on event schedules.
- Previous experience in event coordination, hospitality, or customer service is an asset.
- Familiarity with AV systems, building operations, and accessibility considerations is considered an asset, but will train.
- Passion for community service, leadership, and event management.

**Job Type**: Part-time
Pay: From $16.50 per hour
Expected hours: 2 - 20 per week
