Position Summary

As a Co-ordinator - Events within our Creative Services and Events team, you will be responsible for the co-ordination and implementation of events and functions, as well as the provision of administrative support to Corporate Communications.

**Responsibilities**:
What will your typical day look like?
Co-ordinates, plans, and participates in meetings for special public relations programs, campaigns, events and functions on behalf of the Peel Regional Police (e.g. Service Awards, Police Week Events, Promotional Ceremonies, Police Service Board (PSB) and Employee Recognition Awards, Chief Tribute Dinners, Grand Openings, partner-affiliated fundraising initiatives, service funerals, recruit graduation ceremony gala, and Organizational Anniversaries, etc.). Liaises with the Chief's Management Group (CMG) and PSB to organize, compile and compose related information on the promotional events.
Assists in coordinating, organizing and maintaining membership lists and equipment inventory, arranging venues and scheduling special events for the Chief's Ceremonial Unit (Honour Guard) and the Peel Regional Police Pipe Band.
Processes financial documents related to current and/or capital budgets, express purchase orders, purchase requisitions, cheque requests, and expense claims; reconciles monthly charges against credit card statements.
Receives completed Notice of Transfer forms from Senior Management and enters the transfer details directly into HRMS for processing by Human Resources. Generates reports from HRMS to view processed and pending transfers.
Coordinates the administration of the department’s personnel and administration file systems, ensuring file integrity with respect to access, maintenance and storage and ensuring appropriate purging of disciplinary entries in accordance with prescribed procedures.
Sources quotes, plans and promotes events; communicates planned promotions to internal/external contacts, and ensures that all promotions remain within budget.
Performs additional duties as assigned.

**Qualifications**:
**You are someone with**:
A High School Diploma or equivalent, plus additional administrative courses and/or training, or an equivalent combination of education and experience
A minimum of three years’ experience in the planning, coordination and execution of partner-affiliated fundraising initiatives and launch events, executive-level galas and celebration activities, service funerals, large-scale community and employee engagement events (700-1000 attendees), and graduation ceremonies required

What we offer
The salary range for this permanent, full-time position is $49,012.00 - $76,874.00 per annum based on a 35 hours/week work schedule. Peel Regional Police offers a highly competitive compensation package; applicants will be considered for the top end of the range ($67,265.00 - $76,874.00) based on experience and education. The salary is complemented with a comprehensive benefit program, including employer-paid Health/Dental and Life Insurance; and the OMERS Pension Plan effective upon hire. This position allows for the flexibility of hybrid remote working arrangements.
