Fort Edmonton Management Company (FEMCo), the organization that operates Fort Edmonton Park, is looking for energetic and passionate individuals to join our team as the Internal Communications / Receptionist. Fort Edmonton Park takes you on an iconic journey through the city’s incredibly rich history. The Park offers visitors authentic and immersive experiences, as well as access to special events, live performances, private event rentals, and culinary delights. Fort Edmonton Management Company’s strategic direction is aimed at making the Park the premier cultural tourism attraction in Western Canada.

The Internal Communications/Receptionist will be responsible for assisting with research, the collection of data, and drafting internal communications content. In addition to supporting day-to-day marketing duties, this position will collaborate with and provide support to various departments such as admissions, retail, hospitality, private events, and more. As Internal Communications/Receptionist, you will contribute to the upkeep and execution of the internal Fort Edmonton Park communication portal and support communication needs across a variety of mediums.

This position will be partially funded by Canada Summer Jobs grant funding and therefore must meet the Canada Summer Jobs eligibility criteria.- be between 15 and 30 years of age at the start of the employment;- be a Canadian citizen, permanent resident, or person to whom refugee protection has been conferred under the Immigration and Refugee Protection Act for the duration of the employment; and,- have a valid Social Insurance Number at the start of employment and be legally entitled to work in Canada in accordance with relevant provincial or territorial legislation and regulations

RESPONSIBILITIES:
General Duties and Responsibilities:
- Meet with and assess the communications needs of multiple departments.- Determine the importance of information to be communicated.-
- Other communications assignments as required.-
- Communicate customer service inquiries to appropriate departments where required.- Perform any front desk opening and closing duties.- Greet and welcome any visitors to the administration building.- Perform administrative duties as requested.- Other assignments as required.

QUALIFICATIONS:

- Post-secondary degree or diploma in marketing, communications, brand management, or public relations- Customer service experience is an asset- A knack for writing and curating content- Well-developed organization and problem-solving skills with a strong attention to detail- Ability to prioritize and work under pressure to meet tight deadlines- Team player with a great attitude- Proficient with Google Suite- Must meet qualifications for Canada Summer Jobs Grant as outlined above

OTHER DETAILS:
- This position requires flexibility to work irregular hours including evenings, weekends, and holidays as the business requires, including special events hosted at asset(s) under FEMCo management;- May be called upon to assist with procedures during an onsite emergency;- Exposure to or in contact with common allergens such as but not limited too hay, straw, fur, pollen, dust, peanuts/nuts, bee/wasp stings while on site;- May be exposed to chemicals, smells, elements, noise and/or temperature etc;- Working in a busy office environment with frequent interruptions;- Some time spent in office with frequent time outdoors and onsite working in all weather conditions with frequent to moderate walking, standing, stairs across distances between buildings on site;- Occasional pushing, pulling, crouching, bending, climbing up and down stairs and across distances between buildings and occasional lifting/carrying up to 15lbs;- Must be legally entitled to work in Canada for any employer;- Media consent form required in accordance with FEMCo policy as this role may participate in media events as required; and- Original Police Information Check issued within the past 90 days that is satisfactory to the employer before starting in the position.
