**POSITION OVERVIEW**

The Product Development Coordinator acts as the primary contact with our overseas suppliers, facilitating the early lifecycle stages of a product from concept to creation and up to the production stage. The person in this role acts as liaison between varying departments and manufacturers, handles a multitude of projects, manages tight deadlines, and builds systems for maintaining and sharing product-related data. The Product Development Coordinator continuously communicates in clear and concise written English and must communicate effectively to overseas suppliers. This is a hands-on role and requires impeccable attention to detail, organizational and time management skills.

**KEY FUNCTIONS & RESPONSIBILITIES**
- Liaise between Creative, Graphics team, and overseas suppliers; communicates new designs, artwork, and revision requirements.
- Order, track, receive and distribute samples to respective team members in a timely manner, according to timeline requirements and project needs.
- Maintain organization of sample area.
- Assist in the research and development of new product.
- Assist in conducting various seasonal product presentations.
- Create, maintain, and provide thoughtful feedback on ongoing projects and discussions on Basecamp regarding product and design development.
- Assist with item setup and maintenance in ERP and PLM systems for in-line brands and Amazon.
- Initiate seasonal packaging projects and communicate packaging requirements in seasonal matrix document.
- Collect and log dimensional data for new items (measurements, weights, inner/master carton dimensions, etc.).
- Assist cross-functional teams with a variety of product information.
- Conduct seasonal catalogue proofing for the Now Designs, Danica Studio and Ecologie brands
- Excellent written and verbal English skills.
- 1+ years related work experience or combination of relevant education and experience.
- Experience in wholesale or large chain retail environment an asset
- Strong MS office skills (Outlook, Excel, Word databases or related platforms) and data management skills
- Experience with Salsify, WFX PLM, Sage X3, or other ERP/PLM software systems is an asset.
- Ability to lift and unpack cartons of samples (up to 30 lbs)
- Experience communicating with internal staff, the ability to communicate at a high level with overseas factories and understanding the different communication styles required to be successful in both.
- Strong organizational skills, with the ability to prioritize, operate proactively and work independently.
- Ability to objectively evaluate opinions and generate solutions.
- Previous experience in or a desire to learn about the housewares industry including têxtiles and ceramics.
- Keen interest in Fashion, Home decor, Textiles, Design, Cooking and Entertaining
