People & Culture Generalist (12-Month Contract)

As the People & Culture Generalist, you will play a pivotal role in nurturing, shaping, and scaling our company culture as we continue to grow. You’ll support the well‑being and development of our distributed team while helping build the programs, processes, and experiences that define the employee journey at Bucketlist Rewards. This role combines hands‑on execution with opportunities to create and evolve initiatives related to culture development, employee engagement, and remote‑first work dynamics. Contract Term: This position is a 12‑month maternity leave contract, with the possibility of extension based on organizational needs and performance. The ideal start date is February 17th 2026. When it comes to great company culture, the Bucketlist team walks the talk and we are proud to be Great Place to Work certified Recruitment Key Responsibilities: Collaborate with hiring managers to define job requirements and facilitate the recruitment process. Act as an ambassador for our brand conducting screening interviews, assessing candidates, and contributing to the selection of top talent. Onboarding and Off-boarding Manage the onboarding process for new hires, ensuring a structured, welcoming, and engaging experience. Develop continuous improvements and programs to ensure our employee experience is memorable and authentic from beginning to end. Coordinate off‑boarding processes, conducting exit interviews, and analyzing feedback to improve employee experience. Performance Management Collaborate with managers to support the performance review process and career development conversations. Payroll Support bi‑weekly payroll processing in partnership with People & Culture and Finance; ensure accuracy of employee changes and records, and that employees are paid accurately and on time. Benefits Administration Administer our employee benefits programs, addressing inquiries and facilitating enrolment. Stay up to date on industry trends, make recommendations on enhancements to our benefits offerings. Employee Engagement & Culture Development Champion our company values and foster a positive, inclusive culture across the organization. Lead employee engagement initiatives, including administering surveys (eNPS, pulse checks), analyzing results, and partnering with leaders to implement action plans. Design and deliver strategies, rituals, and programs that strengthen our remote‑first culture, experimenting with new tools and creative approaches to enhance connection and belonging. Own the planning and execution of virtual and in‑person events, team‑building activities, and culture‑building initiatives. Remote Work Support Address challenges related to remote work, providing resources and support for employees. Work closely with IT to manage and ensure our employees have the necessary tools and technology. Communication and Feedback Gather feedback from employees and provide insights to leadership for continuous improvement. HR Compliance Stay current on employment laws and regulations to ensure company compliance. Assist in the development and implementation of HR policies and procedures. Qualifications Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field. 3+ years of proven experience in a similar role, preferably in a remote or distributed work environment. Previous experience in full‑cycle recruitment. Strong understanding of HR practices, employment laws, and remote work dynamics. Experience with HRIS (Employment Hero) and other HR‑related software. Exceptional organizational skills with meticulous attention to detail and accuracy. Excellent oral and written communication skills. Experience working in a scaling or high‑growth environment is an asset. Ability to manage multiple priorities and work effectively in a fast‑paced, ever‑changing work environment. Ability to demonstrate good, sound judgment and work independently with minimum direction or supervision.
