We take pride in our commitment to quality, customer satisfaction, and reliability.We are currently seeking an experienced Senior Accountant to join our team in our Dartmouth Head Office. This is an in-office, full-time, permanent position, Monday to Friday.Reporting to the Director of Finance, the position will play an essential role in supporting day-to-day accounting operations, ensuring the accuracy of financial records, and assisting in the preparation of monthly financial statements.ResponsibilitiesAccounting Operations:Prepare and maintain bank and balance sheet account reconciliations, with the ability to provide findings and insights to senior team members. Ability to work with high volumes of transactions and accurately record transactions in general ledger.Power BI Report Development:Work closely with Sales, Operations, Finance, and Data Teams to develop Power BI Reports to ensure Business Partners are being provided with detailed analyses to drive business performanceFinancial Statement Close:Work closely with Director of Finance, Corporate Controller, and other Accountants to deliver timely and accurate financial results.Audit Support:Work closely with auditors to provide supporting documentation, process walkthroughs, and inquiry to complete the audit.Banking and Payments Support:Assisting vendor and payment setups and review/manage employee credit card expenses.Branch-Level Financial Analysis:During Financial Statement close, work with Finance Team, the Executive Team, and Branch/Regional Managers to review actual monthly/quarterly/annual performance and deliver fulsome commentary on branch performance.Budget and Forecast Assistance:Following Quarterly closes (forecasts) and once annually for budgeting, work closely with Finance Team, Executive Team, and Branch/Regional Managers to deliver budgeted Income Statements and Capital Expenditure Schedules for your portfolio of coverage branches.QualificationsBachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.Minimum 3 years of relevant accounting experience (accounting firm or large company experience is preferred).Strong knowledge of accounting principles and financial reporting.Proficiency with accounting software and Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel.Ability to develop complex Power BI Reports and Excel Financial Models.Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills.Strong communication skills and the ability to collaborate with various teams across the organization.We offer a competitive compensation package, including group benefits, a retirement savings plan, and an employee assistance program.
