OverviewAgricorp is seeking an experienced leader to join our Claims team in the Program Delivery division to help deliver financial and risk management programs for Ontario's agriculture sector. The Team Leader, Claims Services will support a group of adjudicators, customer-oriented professionals responsible for determining program benefits across a suite of different programs.The RoleAs the Team Leader, Claims Services you will act as a hands-on functional and motivational leader to ensure that team members are empowered to provide customers of AgriStability, Risk Management Program, Production Insurance and other programs with efficient and effective administrative support for claims and program payments. This position reports to the Manager, Claims Services and works in partnership with the leadership team.In This Role, You WillCreate a positive work environment by providing daily guidance and direction to Claims team members and supporting other team leadersConduct formal performance evaluations, provide feedback and coaching to improve performance; address performance issues in a timely fashionRecruit and develop talent in accordance with corporate policiesProvide solutions and advice as a subject matter expert in the area of claims servicesDemonstrate ownership of escalated, sensitive, and/or high-risk situations and take an active part in resolving themContinuously look for opportunities to enhance/improve the work being done, including seeking feedback from internal and external customers, interpreting information and make recommendations for changeConduct financial reviews and analysis with Claims Specialists on more complex or high-dollar claimsUsing advanced analytical and problem solving skills to deliver optimal resultsDevelop contingency plans to manage volume fluctuations and unanticipated interruptionsFollow up on trends, create new processes and maintain and develop standard operating proceduresTake active ownership of assigned initiatives by performing tasks necessary for successful delivery, meeting timelines and supporting reporting as requiredParticipate in business planning, resource planning and goal setting with Manager, Claims Services and other Team LeadersStay current on Ontario agriculture and industry trendsAct on behalf of the Manager, Claims Services when requiredJob DetailsJob status: Permanent position (Posting for an existing vacancy)Salary Range: $81,498 - $95,880Work status: Full-time in officeWhat You BringPost-secondary degree, undergraduate level, in Economics, Finance, Commerce, Business, Agriculture or other related experienceMinimum 5 years’ experience in claims adjudication or insurance claims in the financial services or agricultural industry2-3 years team leadership and/or coaching experienceExperience with resource management, work scheduling and goal settingExperience in implementing business changes and operational improvementsExperience in communicating with diverse stakeholdersConflict resolution or dispute mediation experience an assetAdditional training in accounting, risk analysis/risk management, financial analysis or leadership/supervisory training an assetKey CompetenciesLeading teams – Lead and support individual and team performance to achieve results by creating strong morale and a feeling of belongingClient focus – Meet the expectations of internal and external customers through establishing effective relationships, gaining trust and respectCritical judgment, decision making and problem solving – Make the best decision, in a timely manner, based upon a combination of analysis, knowledge, experience and judgementAnalytical thinking – Use facts and available information to make logical assumptionsQuality Focus - Attend to the task at hand to minimize errors and provide consistent delivery of work to the highest possible standardEfficiency - Effectively plan and organize time and resources to prioritize work to effectively meet objectivesWhy join AgricorpAgricorp, an agency of the government of Ontario, delivers government programs.
