Hotel - Front Office Manager - Maternity Leave Coverage

We are excited to be recruiting for an experienced Hotel Front Office Manager for Maternity Leave Coverage at Inn at the Forks. This is a 12-month Maternity Leave Coverage term position and when the term position is over, further opportunities within the company will be considered.
Inn at the Forks is a sleek and stylish hotel set in The Forks historic site with guest rooms that feature a modern design, and some suites have waterfront views. SMITH is a contemporary restaurant featuring locally sourced ingredients, and Riverstone Spa is a full-service spa, both located within the hotel.
Position Overview:
The Front Office Manager is responsible for overseeing all operations at the Front Desk, including Night Audit. The Front Office Manager will have excellent communication skills with staff, managers and guests and will be an effective leader of superior guest service skills and the technicalities of all positions at the Front Desk. The Front Office Manager should have a good working knowledge of the hotel industry and be proactive in seeking out potential problems, staffing or guest concerns and provide effective solutions to benefit the hotel and its guests.
Duties:
·Oversee the daily operations of the entire Front Desk and Night Audit.
·Oversee Payroll and staff scheduling.
·Hiring and creating training plans for new staff onboarding.
·Maintain all Hotel and Front Office policies and procedures.
·Oversee the development of upsell programs.
·Responsible for creating and amending Front Office Procedures accordingly.
·Maintain employee evaluations and corrective action plans with supporting documentation with the assistance of Human Resources.
·Assist in developing strategies to maximize revenue for hotel.
·Manage and troubleshoot the two-way interface status, rate cross reference tables.
·Strategically Manage yields in PMS
·Oversee uniform maintenance and ordering.
·Responsible for handling unresolved problems, guest concerns, accounting errors.
·Other Duties as assigned.
What you bring to the table:
·At least 3+ Years as a Hotel Front Desk Manager/Supervisor
·Previous Front Desk Agent experience in a fast-paced Hotel setting
·Previous experience using Maestro is considered an asset.
·French Speaking is considered an asset.
·Positive and hardworking attitude
·Ability to effectively communicate with team members.
·The ability to stay focused in a high volume, fast paced industry and ensure accuracy and procedures are followed.
This is a Full-Time position, and hours would primarily be days, but evening and weekends could be required, depending on hotels occupancy and staff scheduling. The successful candidate must be available to work a flexible schedule, when needed.
