Human Resources Manager

Responsibilities:
  1. Act as internal consultant to the President, Vice Presidents, and members of the Management team
  2. Overseeing the day-to-day activities of the Human Resources strategic function with an objective of compliance to company ISO / AAR quality standard operating procedures as it relates to training, onboarding, health and safety, contract human capital requirements to expand production capacity, and USA and CA
  3. Development and implementation of HR policies, procedures, and programs for recruitment and retention, orientation and training, labor/employee relations, OH&S, legislative compliance, performance management system, and employee assistance initiatives
  4. Lead training department objectives and develop robust and effective training programs and training system enhancement and compliance
  5. Ensure internal communication is prevalent throughout the organization
  6. Lead efforts in ensuring individual and organization competency gaps are closed through effective organizational analysis, planning and implementation of training
  7. Create a culture of safety ensuring that all health and safety legislation is complied with and proper health and safety training is performed
  8. Coach managers and provide tools for attracting highly qualified and diverse talent from internal and external sources
  9. Guide management and provide tools for effective performance management programs to manage top performance, identify training needs, assist in development and exit employees if required
  10. Champion a positive working environment by providing management with guidance on responding to employee issues and providing appropriate feedback
  11. Create programs that enhance employee engagement including retention strategies
Qualifications:
  1. University degree preferred or equivalent
  2. 5 plus years progressive Human Resources Management experience, Manufacturing or industrial environment an asset
  3. CHRP designation preferred
  4. Excellent Knowledge of Canadian employment laws
  5. Strong business acumen
  6. Ability to work autonomously
  7. Self-starter and energetic with initiative, professionalism, and sound analytical and problem-solving skills
  8. High degree of proven interpersonal and conflict management skills
  9. Ability to maintain information in confidence and exercise good judgment
  10. Proficient with MS Office Suite, Balanced Scorecard Approach, HR Analytics and Automation, HRIS and Applicant Tracking Systems, Onboarding management, Survey System software such as Constant Contacts
  11. Ability to be self-managing, show a commitment to a task, strong work ethic, exceptional integrity
  12. Excellent organizational skills
  13. Ability to work in a demanding fast-paced environment with aggressive timelines
