Equation Staffing Solutions is proud to be the partner of choice for the City of Calgary’s temporary staffing needs. We are currently seeking a Strategic Business Analyst to support Calgary Housing for a 3+ month contract. This is an exciting opportunity to contribute to meaningful policy and governance work that will directly impact board-level operations. You will join a diverse and collaborative environment that values equity, inclusion, anti-racism, and reconciliation. Responsibilities Conduct strategic reviews and policy analysis for Calgary Housing’s Board Expense Policy and Board Code of Conduct Policy. Collaborate with leadership to assess feedback from board members and Executive Leadership Team on policy effectiveness and clarity. Analyze relevant policies from Calgary Housing, the City of Calgary, and the Government of Alberta to ensure legal alignment and best practice adoption. Coordinate with internal teams to align policy updates with related changes, such as those in the Accounts Payable Policy. Draft and revise policy documents to reflect recommended updates and best practices. Prepare formal board reports (in the style of City Council reports) summarizing key changes, rationale, and alignment to governance standards. Qualifications Undergraduate degree in Business Administration, Public Policy, or Public Administration (or related field). Minimum 5 years of experience in strategic analysis, governance, policy development, or a related role. Strong understanding of municipal or government operations and policy development frameworks. Proven ability to conduct thorough policy reviews and write professional, board-level reports. Demonstrated skills in problem solving, decision making, and the ability to multitask under tight timelines. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage cross-functional stakeholders effectively. High attention to detail and a strategic mindset with a focus on practical outcomes.
