Position Overview
The Junior Analyst, Asset Management supports the performance, reporting, and optimization of Strategic Group's real estate portfolio through data-driven analysis, market intelligence, and standardized reporting. This role plays a key part in building and maintaining departmental KPIs, producing automated dashboards, and delivering actionable insights related to rental performance, occupancy, and operational efficiency.
Working closely with Asset Management, Leasing, Property Management, Finance, and Investments, the Junior Analyst helps translate data into clear insights that inform pricing strategies, portfolio planning, and decision-making across the business.
Key Responsibilities
Rental Market & Competitor Analysis
Conduct regular rental market surveys and maintain competitive set databases for each asset
Normalize rental comps across buildings, unit types, amenities, and market segments
Track market rents, incentives, absorption, and leasing velocity
Prepare bi-weekly rental comp summaries with insights and recommendations to support pricing decisions
KPI Development & Reporting
Support the development, rollout, and ongoing maintenance of Asset Management KPIs
Build and maintain automated dashboards and scorecards using Excel and Power BI
Assist in defining standardized KPI methodologies and reporting cadence
Prepare recurring reporting packages for Asset Management and leadership teams
Portfolio Performance & Planning Support
Analyze property-level operating performance and support monthly and quarterly reporting
Assist with annual business planning, budgeting, and capital planning processes
Support the preparation of presentations, briefing materials, and recommendation decks for leadership
Data & Cross-Functional Support
Collaborate with Leasing, Property Management, Finance, and Investments to gather and validate data
Support ad hoc analysis related to portfolio performance, rent optimization, and operational trends
Contribute to continuous improvement of reporting processes, tools, and data quality
Understands and is able to perform pro-forma analysis
Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in Business, Finance, Economics, Real Estate, Data Analytics, or a related field
1 to 3 years of experience in real estate analysis, asset management, leasing analytics, business analysis, or a related role
Exposure to residential or mixed-use portfolios is considered an asset
Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel
Experience building dashboards and reports in Power BI
Familiarity with Yardi or similar property management systems is an asset
