Join Our Team

Steele Hotels is looking for a Human Resources Coordinator to join its growing team. Reporting directly to the Human Resources Manager, the HR Coordinator will be responsible for:

  1. Developing and redefining job descriptions for all levels of the company
  2. Developing onboarding packages to align with new goals and employee manual
  3. Assisting the HR Manager with updating and maintaining onboarding presentations
  4. Collaborating with managers and supervisors on the development of a training/orientation program for each department
  5. Coaching and assisting management on progressive discipline
  6. Assist in the development and roll-out of a performance management plan, working with the HR Manager on training and supporting management
  7. Assist the HR Manager in officially developing a leadership training/succession plan
  8. Assist with documentation on wage subsidies, training subsidies, etc.
  9. Recruitment/Immigration/Offboarding
  10. Assisting in the screening of positions, setting up interviews and conducting reference checks
  11. Supporting the posting of positions and attending career fairs
  12. Completing exit interviews
  13. Maintaining files for international candidates, including uploading files and documents, tracking down requested items for immigration, and tracking/organizing housing
  14. Ensure cultural training where required, being the main administrative contact for international employees (directing them to ANCNL offices to coordinate MCP, banking, integrating into the community, etc.)
Requirements

Education, Experience & Qualifications:

  • Diploma or Degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field
  • Chartered Professional in Human Resources (CPHR) designation is an asset
  • Comprehensive understanding of NL Labour Standards Act and Canadian Human Rights Act
  • Excellent communication, organizational, and time-management skills
  • Upholds a very high level of integrity and confidentiality
