Job Summary:

NLSchools is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Regional Director of Human Resources to join our team. As a key member of our management team, you will be responsible for leading the delivery of human resources services for the Labrador Region.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Reporting to the Director of Human Resources, you will provide leadership and guidance to the management team and employees in the region.
  • You will be responsible for managing the operations of the region, including performing a generalist role as an advisor to management and employees, interpreting and administering collective agreements, and providing advice and guidance on policies and programs.
  • You will also be responsible for recruitment and selection, professional development, attendance management, benefits and pension administration, employee relations, occupational health and safety, and disability management.
  • You will provide strategic support to the Director of Schools, including Nunatsiavut Government funding.
  • You will perform other duties as assigned, which may include providing support to other regions.

Requirements:

  • You should have management and supervisory experience and possess well-developed communication, organizational, facilitation, planning, and analytical skills.
  • You should be able to work independently or as part of a team, have superior conflict resolution skills, and be able to work under pressure to meet deadlines.
  • You should have the ability to create and maintain effective working relationships with a variety of stakeholders.
  • Public sector experience, especially in the education sector, is considered an asset.

Qualifications:

You should have an undergraduate degree in Business, Commerce, or equivalent, supplemented by progressively responsible and related experience. An equivalent combination of experience and training may be considered.
