    • Build documentation, such as templates and forms, to standardize safety practices across the organization.
  3. Team Development & Training:
    • Mentor and coach the Health and Safety team to ensure consistent execution of safety programs.
    • Facilitate training for all employees, from regulatory requirements to site-specific topics, ensuring compliance at all levels.
    • Oversee onboarding safety protocols for new employees and liaise with HR to identify training needs.
  4. Risk Management & Reporting:
    • Conduct regular site visits to assess safety conditions and compliance.
    • Track and present health and safety statistics, trends, and recommendations to senior management.
    • Administer WSIB claims and oversee safe return-to-work plans, providing guidance to managers on minimizing lost time injuries.
  5. Collaboration & Stakeholder Engagement:
    • Serve as a key advocate for employee safety and wellness, fostering a strong safety culture.
    • Oversee and provide direction for the Locates Coordinator and Environmental Compliance team.
    • All other duties as required.

Qualifications:

  • Minimum 10 years in a senior health and safety role within construction.
  • Professional designation (e.g., CRSP, CSP, NCSO) and certifications in WSIB JHSC (Part 1 & 2) and Surface Mining Common Core.
  • Proven experience leading COR 2020 audits and implementing OHS programs.
  • Expertise in OH&S laws, regulations, and best practices.
  • Strong leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills.
  • Proficient in MS Office; bilingual in French is an asset.
  • Valid driver’s license and willingness to travel to project sites.
