**The Health and Safety Coordinator will work closely with the Executive Director to update the company’s Health and Safety manual and procedures. The primary responsibility of this role is to build and update the company’s health and safety management system and to conduct site inspections to ensure compliance with Occupational Health and Safety legislation.**

**Specific Tasks and Responsibilities**
- Ability to initiate innovative ways to effectively implement safety controls, resulting in a high level of compliance from all workplace parties
- Develop, implement, and monitor health & safety policies and procedures
- Assist the Health and Safety Department with COR
- Ensure work onsite is complaisant to Infrastructure Health and Safety Association and Ministry of Labor legislations
- Conduct regular walk throughs of sites and complete inspection reports
- Ensure all safety concerns onsite are being addressed
- Assist in updating Company’s safe work procedures
- Ensure proper PPE use on site
- Verify Daily completion of Daily Hazard Assessment is accurate and submitted
- Ensure weekly site supervisor inspection report, safety talks, and other as needed reports are submitted
- Provide site orientation and awareness training as required
- Assist the superintendent in addressing concerns, implementing corrective actions and monitoring its effectiveness by documenting accordingly for due diligence as needed
- Verify and maintain training records of workers
- Assist with annual health & safety audits and prevention program reviews
- Various administrative and due diligence duties

**Position Requirements**
- NSCO Designation
- 5+ years working in H&S or Construction Industry
- Fully Bilingual (French/English verbal and written) (preferred)
- Ability to obtain and maintain a Security Clearance (Secret)
- Excellent oral and written communication skills
- Excellent knowledge of Microsoft Office (Excel, Outlook, Word)
- Must have a valid driver’s license with a safe driving record
- Strong organizational skills along with ability to communicate effectively
- Ability to multi-task while maintaining a high level of attention to detail
- Knowledge of OHSA regulations and practices
- Ability to determine the priority of assignments based on critical deadline
- Attention to detail and problem-solving skills
- Comfortable communicating with various level of management
- Experience in implementing OSH training programs
- Experience working in the Quebec regions (ASP and CCQ memberships preferred)
- Introduction to Hazard & Risk Management (preferred)

**Job Types**: Full-time, Permanent

**Salary**: $29.00-$35.00 per hour
