Reporting directly to the President, this position oversees all HR operations, aligns human resources initiatives with business objectives, and drives employee engagement, development, and organizational culture. Key Responsibilities Manage day‑to‑day HR functions, including recruitment, employee relations, training, and compliance, ensuring adherence to all legal and regulatory requirements. Develop and implement HR strategies aligned with organizational goals to support growth, innovation, and long‑term success. Provide expert advice on HR policies, offer strategic guidance, and mentor team members to foster collaboration and high performance. Manage employee issues and grievances professionally, cultivate a positive workplace culture, enhance employee satisfaction, and implement recognition programs to boost morale and retention. Design and deliver training programs, support career progression, conduct performance evaluations, and provide constructive feedback to nurture talent. Administer competitive compensation and benefits packages, conducting regular benchmarking and analysis to ensure market competitiveness. Ensure compliance with employment laws and regulations, implementing risk mitigation strategies to safeguard organizational interests. Lead change initiatives, effectively communicate with employees, and identify opportunities for organizational improvement and efficiency. Assess HR technology needs, oversee system implementation, and maintain data accuracy and security. Develop and execute initiatives to promote diversity, equity, and inclusion, fostering a culture of belonging through collaboration with stakeholders. Conduct workforce analysis, develop talent acquisition strategies, and ensure the organization has the necessary talent to meet future needs. As a member of the JHSC, ensure compliance with health and safety regulations and promote employee well‑being programs. Utilize data analytics to track HR metrics, provide insights for decision‑making, and generate reports to inform senior management. Maintain knowledge of payroll and benefits processes to serve as backup for the Payroll and Benefits Administrator when needed. Undertake additional tasks and special projects as necessary to support the smooth operation and strategic objectives of the HR department. What You Bring To Ampco Diploma or degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field. Minimum 5 years of progressive HR experience, including leadership responsibilities. Strongly preferred: experience in payroll and benefits administration or management. In‑depth knowledge of HR practices, employment laws, and regulatory compliance. Exceptional communication, interpersonal, and problem‑solving skills. Proficiency in HRIS platforms and Microsoft Office Suite. Professional certifications such as CPHR, PCP, or CPM are considered an asset.
