MECHANICAL DESIGNER
Firebridge provides turnkey smart combustion solutions and products that are engineered to significantly improve energy efficiency, productivity and greenhouse gas emissions. We design and deliver practical products, services and expertise to high temperature process industries. Our solutions are fundamentally driven by meaningful ROI. Currently we are looking for a Mechanical Designer to lead the execution of our projects.

What You’ll Do:
·       Reporting to the Project Engineer, the Mechanical Designer is responsible for solid modelling and complete fabrication drawings for furnaces, ovens and other equipment and structures.
·       Your creativity and experience in welded fabrication design will play a part in the detail development of the equipment and the standardization of the CAD processes at Firebridge
·       Your accountability will ensure the mechanical CAD design will allow for ease of assembly without encountering interferences.
·       Your ability to produce amazing solid models and high quality fabrication drawings will make Firebridge engineering stand out to our clients and fabrication suppliers alike.
·       Your desire to learn will propel you to higher levels of responsibility as you engage in continuous learning and skills development
·       Your hands-on capabilities may be counted upon to support Firebridge efforts at our client’s facilities during testing, erection, commissioning and start-up

What You Offer:
You have at least 8-10+ years of relevant experience as a Mechanical Designer and you possess a Mechanical Technology diploma.
You are familiar with industrial boilers, furnaces and the use of refractories and ceramic fiber insulating liners in such equipment.
Strong interpersonal skills needed to work in a team environment
Strong ability to multi-task and problem solve
Technical assets:
Solidworks
Microsoft Office
Excel VBA an asset
Stress Design
Heat Transfer Design
Piping Design

Other Requirements
Willing to travel occasionally to job sites and other third-party offices.
Must be a Canadian Citizen, Permanent Resident or Landed Immigrant who is in the process of becoming a Permanent Resident.
