Noranco Woodbridge is currently seeking a Procurement Supervisor.

Primary Duties & Responsibilities:

  1. Manage the purchase of raw materials such as aerospace related metals, plastics, complex materials, castings, tooling and related requirements to support the manufacturing process.
  2. Support Buyers with the purchase of outside processing services, hardware and MRO items.
  3. Oversee the expediting process to ensure critical delivery times to customers.
  4. Obtain quotes, prepare price analysis and recommendations; negotiate price/delivery/payment terms; negotiate supplier contracts where applicable.
  5. Identify and drive cost saving opportunities.
  6. Develop, monitor and maintain supplier score cards, on time status and vendor audits.
  7. Develop new suppliers as required.
  8. Discuss unacceptable or inferior quality materials with inspection or quality control departments and take corrective action.
  9. Manage, support and coach Buyers.
  10. All other duties as assigned.

Required Skills:

  1. Ability to read part drawings.
  2. Extensive knowledge of ferrous, non-ferrous metals and specialty alloys.
  3. Ability to maintain minimal inventory levels while sustaining production requirements.
  4. Advanced computer skills including MS Office and MRP/ERP software.
  5. Attention to detail.
  6. Strong communication skills.
  7. Interpersonal skills.
  8. Leadership capabilities.
  9. Negotiating skills.
  10. Problem solving abilities.

Working Conditions:

Physical:

  1. Work is normally performed in an office environment, occasionally required to be on the manufacturing floor.
  2. Frequently required to stand, walk, use hands and arms, stoop, kneel, or crouch.
  3. The employee is occasionally required to climb or balance.
  4. Corrected hearing and vision to normal range.
  5. Use of office equipment including computers, telephones, calculators, copiers and fax machines.
  6. Ability to wear personal protective equipment such as hard hat, safety shoes, safety goggles, ear plugs, fitted dust mask, etc. as required.

Mental:

  1. Must be able to take on new assignments as required.
  2. Must work under deadlines and related stresses in a timely manner.
  3. Must be able to handle various personnel and other situations as they arise in a professional manner.
  4. Ability to work in a fast paced manufacturing environment.
  5. Multi-tasking abilities.

Required Experience:

Minimum ten years purchasing experience.

Knowledge and experience in the procurement of raw material items for an aerospace parts maker.

  • Familiar with ISO 9001 and/or AS9100.

Level of Education:

Post-Secondary Education in Supply Chain Management, Operations Management or related field.

Designation in Supply Chain Management is an asset.
