Responsible for assessment, design, and implementation of datacenter services, including servers, storage and network services with a focus on Linux systems. This person will be in our Niagara Falls office.

  1. Review and recommend Linux deployment standards.
  2. Leverage configuration management tools to deploy and enforce predefined, standard system states, collect data, create reports, and maintain compliance.
  3. Participate with internal and external teams in the design, implementation, and maintenance of computing/cloud, network and data storage system infrastructure components.
  4. Identify, recommend, and lead implementation of improvements to infrastructure components and procedures to increase operational efficiency.
  5. Participate in disaster recovery planning and testing for infrastructure components and services.
  6. Provide technical leadership to the MSP offshore team.
  7. Work within a team environment, manage systems, lead upgrades, coordinate installations, and work from a ticketing queue.
  8. Ensure compliance with company standards, policies and regulations.
  9. Assure maximum uptime by monitoring and analyzing system and network utilization trends, performing capacity planning, and applying proactive remediations to potential issues.
  10. Plan, design and lead infrastructure management/maintenance projects, including relevant policies & procedures, and operational improvements in collaboration with team members and MSPs.
Qualifications:

Required:

  1. Completion of a diploma in Computer Science, or a related discipline – or a combination of education, training, and experience deemed equivalent.
  2. 8-10 years of related work experience with a background in Cloud and On-Premises infrastructure, Linux systems management, and design/development of corporate systems standards.
  3. Problem solving, interpersonal, and oral/written/presentation skills to lead the analysis, design, and development of enterprise business solutions across multiple platforms.

Preferred:

  1. Linux experience is a requirement. Red Hat and/or Oracle Enterprise Linux considered an asset.
  2. Ansible configuration management implementation and operation required.
  3. Working experience with an MSP.
  4. Azure and Oracle Cloud Infrastructure experience.
  5. Oracle Exadata OS level / Grid / ASM considered an asset.
  6. Network configuration on Cisco devices experience (routers, switches, ASA, firepower) considered an asset.
  7. Experience with Service Now.
  8. ITIL Foundations considered an asset.
  9. Industry specific certifications (RedHat, VMware, Citrix, Microsoft, Cisco), an asset.

    The budgeted range will align with qualifications, including experience, education, training, licenses, certifications, and other business and organizational requirements.
