How you’ll contribute

As our Heavy Equipment Shop Supervisor, you will supervise the daily operations of our Heavy Equipment Repair and Service mechanics through:

  • Working with the Branch Manager to set and communicate goals, direction and priorities in the development of a cohesive shop management program.
  • Relieving parts inventory on work orders, and ensuring Parts room is managed when regular staff is unavailable.
  • Managing and summarizing nightly productivity.
  • Providing guidance and leadership to all direct reports, and ensuring technical manuals are easily accessible for all mechanics.
  • Maintaining all inventory control documents to preserve the integrity of the Rental Management system.
  • Maximizing internal efficiencies, improving the equipment quality, improving department safety, and helping ensure productivity requirements are met.
  • Providing excellent written and verbal communication to all staff, peers, senior management, and customers.
  • Ensuring compliance of all policies and relevant government legislation.
  • Reporting any workplace hazards and helping to eliminate them to ensure a safe work environment.
  • Adhering to and promoting our Company Safety Policies, including wearing all required PPE.
  • 5+ years of mechanic/technical experience, with a minimum of 2 years in a Heavy Equipment mechanic shop environment.
  • Experience in a Management or Leadership role, preferably within heavy equipment, equipment rental, construction, or related industries.
  • Class 5 Driver’s License with clean driver’s abstract is an asset.
