General Information:

Shop Supervisor for Transformer Repair - will provide operational and technical leadership for the Shop Floor Personnel at our Stoney Creek Service Center. This role requires experience in leading operational craft labour teams and technical experience in Transformer Repairs.

Position: Evening shift: Monday to Thursday 3:30 pm until 2:00 am

Responsibilities:

  1. Supervise job execution by shop employees in a 2-shift manufacturing facility.
  2. Co-ordinate all production aspects of the repair in cooperation with engineering, planning, purchasing, and project management.
  3. Ensure optimal utilization of resources and high productivity.
  4. Analyze and recommend cost improvement measures.
  5. Hire, train, direct, and manage all hourly shop employees.
  6. Identify, troubleshoot, and resolve or assist in resolving daily operational issues.
  7. Lead and/or support safety and quality initiatives.
  8. Support job planning and work schedule development.
  9. Assist in preparing documentation to support the quality program.

Qualifications:

  1. Bachelor’s degree in engineering or technical diploma as a technologist, or an equivalent combination of education and related experience.
  2. Preferably 5+ years’ experience in transformer production/repair or equivalent manufacturing experience.
  3. Experience with supervising workers in a factory union environment.
  4. Excellent interpersonal and problem-solving skills.
  5. Superior administrative, planning, organizational, and follow-up skills.
  6. Demonstrated experience as a team player and leading teams.
