**How you’ll contribute**

As our **Heavy Equipment Shop Supervisor**, you will supervise the daily operations of our Heavy Equipment Repair and Service mechanics through:

- Working with the Branch Manager to set and communicate goals, direction and priorities in the development of a cohesive shop management program.
- Managing daily productivity, hard down equipment, and ensuring status codes are maintained to company standards.
- Demonstrating the required behaviours, attitudes, and mindset to develop strong safety culture and to position Stephenson’s for continued, sustainable growth.
- Supporting and coaching mechanics with equipment service and repairs to ensure minimum down time, offering parts recommendations to prevent stock outs and down time.
- Organizing all annual and 10-year structural inspections on lifts and booms
- Relieving parts inventory on work orders, and ensuring Parts room is managed when regular staff is unavailable.
- Managing and summarizing nightly productivity
- Regularly stepping into the duties of Repair mechanic to support the team to meet production requirements.
- Providing guidance and leadership to all direct reports, and ensuring technical manuals are easily accessible for all mechanics.
- Maintaining all inventory control documents to preserve the integrity of the Rental Management system.
- Maximizing internal efficiencies, improving the equipment quality, improving department safety, and helping ensure productivity requirements are met
- Providing excellent written and verbal communication to all staff, peers, senior management, and customers.
- Fostering an environment of open and professional communication by listening and actioning all requests.
- Assisting in the development of programs and strategies to maximize efficiency and supporting continuous improvement initiatives.
- Ensuring compliance of all policies and relevant government legislation
- Reporting any workplace hazards and helps to eliminate them to ensure a safe work environment.
- Adhering to and promoting our Company Safety Policies, including wearing all required PPE.
- Completing other duties as assigned.

**What we’re looking for**
- Post-Secondary Diploma or Degree preferred
- Red Seal 421A strongly preferred
- 5+ years of mechanic/technical experience, with a minimum of 2 years in a Heavy Equipment mechanic shop environment
- Experience in a Management or Leadership role, preferably within heavy equipment, equipment rental, construction, or related industries
- Strong leadership, organization, and communication skills
- Exceptional interpersonal, decision making, and problem-solving abilities
- Able to multi-task and work effectively in a fast-paced team environment
- Class 5 Driver’s License with clean driver’s abstract is an asset
