What you’ll be doing

The Consultant, Production Application Support is responsible for providing technical expertise to resolve application and infrastructure technology issues on medium to highly complex projects in compliance with service standards, policies, and procedures. The role troubleshoots complex issues for all levels, evaluating service requests for adherence to service standards and processes, and identifying inconsistencies to determine potential impact and take appropriate action. The Consultant, Production Application Support exercises independent judgement to analyze and resolve production application problems to identify root causes and define actions to eliminate recurrence. The role coordinates and executes project plans using control procedures to implement application and maintenance updates. In addition, the role monitors and analyzes supported services and deployment methodologies to identify opportunities for improvement and recommend solutions. How you’ll succeed

  • Production support: Investigate and define operational issues and prioritize based on severity, risk and/or strategic business needs. Manage issue logs and Contact Centre requests. li>
  • Partnership: Work as a regular liaison with business partners, technology partners, senior management team, internal and external clients. Ensure internal clients are well-informed of the team mandate and nature, including relevant policies and legislation changes. Promote and support the concepts, products and services of the Channel Support area.
  • Projects delivery: Act as subject matter expert in the assessment of impacts for planned system changes and projects, ensuring compliance with relevant organization standards (Business, Continuity, Security, Compliance, and Privacy); develop and maintain productive relationships with Technology, QA, Project team and others. Research, evaluate and support the development and implementation of new and/or revised policies, procedures and standards. li>

Who you are

  • You can demonstrate 3-5 years of experience with:
    • Unix, Linux and Windows operating systems
    • Shell scripts (ksh), Python, Groovy, Ruby, and Java (Servlet, JSP, SOA – Webservices)
    • Source control and continuous delivery with Jenkins, OpenShift, Kubernetes, GitHub, JIRA and Confluence
    • Managing dependencies across multiple pre-production environments and production to ensure the successful promotion of code throughout the SDLC
    • Technical working knowledge of all aspects of the DevOps lifecycle; It is an asset if you have experience with Azure DevOps
    • Ability to take a procedure done manually, evaluate all possible scenarios of complexity with that procedure, and eventually automate the same procedure for flawless execution
    • Regularly interacting with Developers, Architects, Business Analysts and Project Managers to ensure smooth deployment of releases
    • Knowledge of Network, Loadbalancer(s), DNS, TCP/IP, SFTP/SSH, clustered web servers, clustered application servers, server configuration and management: Tomcat, Apache and JBOSS
    • Understanding of software development methodologies, network/TCP debugging and highly available/scalable web architectures and disaster recovery techniques
