**Hybrid Job**: This job offers the opportunity to work from home as part of a hybrid work arrangement. This arrangement will allow you to work some days at a TCHC work location and the rest of the time from home. The amount of time required to work at a TCHC work location is flexible, while considering operational and service delivery requirements.

**What you’ll do**
- Provide strategic advice to clients that supports business objectives and ensures compliance with legislation and collective agreements
- Interpret collective agreements, employment and labour legislation, policies and procedures.
- Deliver timely and effective labour relations services to clients including but not limited to consultation and advice in disciplinary and non-disciplinary matters, investigations, complaints, attendance management, performance management, and human rights including workplace accommodations
- Manage the grievance procedure including but not limited to investigating, attending Step 2 and Step 3 grievance hearings, preparing written responses and settlement agreements and attending mediations and arbitrations.
- Provide support in all stages of Collective Bargaining.
- Participate in labour management meetings and other meetings with union representatives on a variety of labour relations matters.
- Assist in developing, organizing and leading various workshops regarding labour relations, collective agreement interpretation, workforce planning, guidelines, policies and procedures.
- Work collaboratively with the recruitment team and provide input on recruitment activities within client portfolio as required.
- Provide advice, assistance, and guidance to managers and consultants in all phases of re-organization.
- Implement and support key initiatives as outlined in the labour relations strategy.
- Provide leadership and guidance to resolve complex labour relations issues and ensure quality in service delivery
- Mentor, coach and provide work direction to Employee and Labour Relations Associates and Assistants.
**What you’ll need**
- Post-secondary education in Industrial Relations, Human Resources or related field combined with 3-5 years of work experience in a unionized environment (or an equivalent combination of education and work experience).
- Experience consulting in a unionized setting is required, preferably in the broader public sector or social service sector.
- Experience conducting investigations into complaints of misconduct, policy violations or other sensitive matters with a strong understanding of investigative best practices.
- Experience overseeing and resolving complex grievances.
- Strong customer service and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build strong working relationships with managers, employees, union officials and the public.
- Knowledge of human resources and labour relations practices
- Familiarity with and ability to interpret collective agreements and employment legislation, e.g. Employment Standards Act, Labour Relations Act, Human Rights Code.
- Excellent oral and written communication skills with experience developing and preparing correspondence and reports.
