Guelph Medical Imaging is seeking a qualified Medical Radiation Technologist to join our team for a permanent full-time or part-time position.

JOB SUMMARY:

Perform a variety of technical tasks involved in operating x-ray equipment to make radiographs (x-ray images) while providing a safe and comforting environment for the patient.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  1. Perform and record daily Quality Control and Quality Assurance procedures
  2. Record repeat/reject analysis
  3. Prepare patients for Radiology exam by explaining the procedure
  4. Comfort and monitor the patient
  5. Confirm both patient birth date and referring physician for each patient
  6. Position the patient and the equipment correctly
  7. Ensure the patient and others are protected from radiation
  8. Assist the radiologist when needed and operate the equipment to obtain quality images
  9. Record and process data
  10. Maintain a clean working environment; follow Universal Health Precautions
  11. Acquire and document patient medical clinical history if none provided
  12. All other tasks as required.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  1. Educational requirements:
  2. Must be a current member of the CMRTO
  3. Member of CAMRT preferred
  4. Current CPR certification
  5. WHMIS training

Computer proficiency:

Technologist must be comfortable with the use of computers for the use with the digital x-ray equipment as well as RIS, PACS, and email.

  4. Maintain excellent work and attendance record
  5. Comply with Guelph Medical Imaging Policy and Procedure Manual

Job Types: Full-time, Permanent

Pay: $35.00-$45.00 per hour

Expected hours: 42.5 per week
