Radiation Therapist

We are seeking a highly skilled Radiation Therapist to join our team at the Ontario Veterinary College Health Sciences Centre.

The University of Guelph is a leading institution in animal health and welfare, and our Health Sciences Centre provides state-of-the-art facilities for experiential learning and discovery. As a Radiation Therapist, you will be working closely with our Radiation Oncologist and Medical Physicists to provide top-notch cancer treatment to animals.

$30.08 per hour plus benefits package.

As a Radiation Therapist, your primary responsibility will be to plan and deliver radiation therapy treatments to animals. You will work closely with our Radiation Oncologist and Medical Physicists to ensure that each patient receives the best possible care. Your duties will include:

• Planning CT and MRI procedures
• Importing images into Eclipse treatment planning system
• Facilitating normal tissue/organ contouring
• Ensuring quality assurance on treatment plans
• Performing prescribed imaging and treatments

You will also be responsible for operating and maintaining the radiation therapy facility, including performing daily quality assurance checks and arranging for quarterly maintenance inspections.

To be successful in this role, you must have:

• A completed accredited M.R.T. (T) program
• Registration with Canadian Association of Medical Radiation Technologists (C.A.M.R.T.), College of Medical Radiation Technologists of Ontario (C.M.R.T.O.) and Ontario Association of Medical Radiation Technologists (O.A.M.R.T.)
• Some related experience
• Excellent record keeping and verbal/written communication skills
• An in-depth knowledge of radiation therapy equipment

Possession of a CLINAC, OBI system, ECLIPSE planning system and Aria experience is an asset.
