Purchasing and Inventory Coordinator Status: Regular, Full time Location: Edmonton, Alberta Responsibilities Source and purchase electrical materials and supplies in alignment with branch requirements and customer demand. Issue purchase orders, verify pricing, and ensure timely order placement with vendors. Maintain strong relationships with suppliers to support competitive pricing and reliable product availability. Review purchasing reports, recommend stock adjustments, and assist with demand forecasting. Monitor open purchase orders and follow up with vendors to ensure on-time delivery. Resolve shipping delays, shortages, and discrepancies in collaboration with suppliers and internal teams. Communicate delivery updates to the sales teams. Work with vendors to improve lead times and proactively prevent stockouts. Perform scheduled cycle counts and investigate variances. Coordinate with warehouse staff to maintain accurate inventory records and proper product identification. Analyze inventory data to identify slow‑moving, obsolete, or overstocked items. Qualifications Solid work experience in purchasing, ideally in a similar industry. Strong communication, organization and collaboration skills. Self-starter with good instinct for negotiation.
