The Purchasing/Inventory Control Clerk is responsible for the purchasing process and monitoring inventory levels to maintain a strong material supply for food manufacturing production within the parameters of the budget and forecasts.

Role Responsibilities:
Purchasing
- Collaborate with production and issue purchase orders consistent with the forecasted production plan.
- Follow up on all purchase orders to ensure they arrive on time
- Communicate with suppliers to guarantee on-time delivery and resolve issues
- Maintain purchasing system, including bill of ladings, supplier invoices, inventory reports and price lists.
- Verify the accuracy of received orders and document them in the appropriate software
- Convert the purchase order to a purchase invoice in the computer system and confirm pricing with contracts
- Collaborate with other departments to support production needs and ensure a smooth flow of materials
- Manage changes in supply requirements

Inventory
- Monitor and maintain inventory levels at the plant and off-site storage
- Updated inventory records to ensure accuracy
- Respond to the need for procurement of goods to support production, utilizing the FIFO method
- Reconcile physical inventory with purchase orders and the inventory management software
- Resolve discrepancies
- Monitor the performance of critical supplies and resolve issues that may arise
- Communicate potential supply chain risks
- Enter information into the appropriate software
- Perform other duties as assigned

**Requirements**:

- Experience with an ERP system and Sage accounting software is an asset
- Purchasing experience with a strong understanding of purchasing processes and strategies.
- Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills with exceptional attention to customer service
- Flexible and able to respond to change, with a strong ability to multitask
- Attention to detail, excellent organizational skills
- Analytical capabilities for procurement needs and the ability to identify issues and offer solutions
- Thrives in collaborative environments and can also work independently with a high degree of personal accountability and professionalism.
- Excellent customer service focus, ability to quickly build working relationships with suppliers and colleagues

**Job Type**:
Part-time permanent position.

This position is 20 hours of work per week. During high season (August to December 31st), hours will increase to 25 hours per week. Monday to Friday, day shift.

Note:

- This is an in-office position that requires stairs and walking of the production plant and occasionally the off-site dry storage. Must tolerate cold temperatures occasionally.
- Strict safety practices are in place, and adherence to both work safety and food safety regulations is mandatory.
