Job Description The NeoBrainLab (www.neobrainlab.org) seeks a highly motivated and organized Clinical Research Coordinator to support ongoing and upcoming clinical trials and database projects involving neonates with hypoxic‑ischemic encephalopathy (HIE). The role involves coordinating study activities across multiple sites, ensuring data integrity, regulatory compliance, and excellence in patient‑centered research. General Duties Study Coordination and Site Management: facilitate implementation and monitor progress of the trial and national database across participating sites; train site personnel; ensure rigorous data collection, REDCap completion, and imaging transfer; respond to questions, troubleshoot issues, and support problem resolution. Participant Recruitment and Follow‑Up: screen patients for eligibility and obtain informed consent from parents; follow up with families to ensure timely completion of study visits and long‑term assessments; provide education and support to parents throughout study participation. Data and Documentation Management: set up and maintain REDCap databases and the imaging repository (MedicAI); maintain secure data storage on the institutional server; complete case report forms and adverse event reports; support data analysis and manuscript preparation. Clinical and Research Support: coordinate appointments and assist with research medical procedures (brain MRI, cardiac echocardiography, eye exams, vital signs assessments, blood testing, drug administration); monitor delivery of patient care in accordance with study protocols and institutional standards; ensure adherence to Good Clinical Practice (GCP) and all ethical and regulatory requirements. Education and Training: provide education to nursing, medical, and research staff regarding study‑specific procedures; offer guidance to parents and families; maintain required certifications (GCP, REDCap, TCPS2). Regulatory and Administrative Support: assist with the preparation and submission of study protocols, amendments, and annual renewals to the Research Ethics Board; support Health Canada documentation and grant applications; contribute to ongoing process improvement and quality assurance activities. Education / Experience Diploma of College Studies (DEC) in health sciences or a related field (Bachelor’s degree an asset). Minimum one (1) year of clinical research experience. Required Skills Languages: bilingual (French and English, spoken and written). Excellent communication, organizational, and time‑management skills. Strong ability to work independently and within a multidisciplinary team. High degree of autonomy, initiative, and ethical judgment. Strong interpersonal and problem‑solving abilities. Ability to multitask and manage time‑sensitive priorities effectively. Technical Proficiency Competent in MS Office (Word, Excel); familiarity with REDCap and database management; familiarity with MRI and ultrasounds. Assets Prior experience with randomized clinical trials. Knowledge of international, federal, and provincial regulations governing clinical research (ICH‑GCP).
